I Think I Found My Own Building. Three Years Later?

back before gavel was out i applied to be a trial builder, i was accepted. on my plot i build a single house. a two storied house with a grassy green roof. the house was premeditated. i have made hundreds of these houses on multiple minecraft servers. i just got back into wynncraft and i noticed something as i was riding along and said to myself. "Hey, thank looks familiar XD" this was crazy because i hadn't played wynncraft for about 2-3 years and i was still using the same building style :P. but something was different. it looked slightly modified and im cool with that. and now apparently i am not a trial builder. even though when i asked 2 years ago if my time as a trial builder will run out they said no, its infinite. so im just sad to see that im not a trial builder anymore and my house was added to gavel and i didn't even know. Here is a picture of the house in wynncraft : (https://imgur.com/a/xMOHM) and here is a picture of a house i built on another server: (https://imgur.com/a/KrEiD) as you can see they have striking resemblance, the build's overall style has evolved overtime but it kept its same fundamental shape. so im asking two questions to finish this off. 1. can anyone fill in the blanks on how my house got into gavel without me knowing? 2. why am i no longer a trial builder?

Edit: i dont want any form of recognition from this all i want to know is if its really mine and its story.

 

1. I doubt that its your house that got in the map. It could just be that another builder coincidentally used a similar style and block palette to your house when building it. Those styles were common to Gavel structures back then.

2. There are times when Grian comes on a does a "spring cleaning", that is, removing all inactive members from the CT. It is likely you were one of the players removed from the whitelist. If you do want to come back and build for the server, you can always reapply.

 

did you view the pictures? thats like 99% the same. conveniently there is only one of it. And it has all the small details that everyone overlooks in it too.

Yea I saw the pics, but builders usually don't look at trial builds before building something.

 

How come 1. I didn't even get a warning about the spring cleaning. And 2. "Those styles were common to gavel" why is it alone in the middle of nowhere with nothing else like it on the map?

Nothing personal I just wanna explain myself and see his own thoughts not from someone else on behalf of him, I'm sure he can come up with a sensible resolution and explore all of the possibilities. Or we could find who built it? And ask them where the concept was from

 

Each spring cleaning is mentioned in the Skype group (FYI, we have moved onto Discord) before it is conducted. Since you were inactive, you didn't see the message and hence was removed from the whitelist.



This is the house of the protagonist of Star Thief. As you can see, the style also looks similar to yours. In fact, all houses in Cinfras have similar styles too. Same goes for houses in the Llevigar-Light Forest transition, and even houses in Elkurn. What I'm trying to say is, this style of building is common to early Gavel-era builders. It is used all across the map, with slight variations to account for themes. So no, it is very unlikely your house is the inspiration of the house that you found. Perhaps back then, a builder thought a green and lime clay roof would fit really nicely with the standard wood-and-stonebrick palette for the house. It really is 100% coincidence, after all.

And for Grian, he is still the Head Builder but he also has to focus on his own server and a growing YouTube channel, so he can't really be contacted easily. Right now the team is being managed by 3 managers, with @Hams managing builder work. You can always contact him if you need to bring up anything such as this issue.

Did you watch Grian's videos? I do think that the houses are built with Grian's style since there are a lot of videos of building a house or something like that.

 

I'm the manager and i can tell you, it's been two years, nobody can disappear two years and say "yo i'm back", things change, people move on, the team is different from what it was and you had barely started your trial anyway. For the houses, take a better look at them, the details are very different and the style is very common, it definitely isn't your house.

Im 99% certain that the builder who made that building didn't look at your trial build and copied it. It could just be a strange coincidence. The style you built is very common in the Wynncraft world.
And if you've been absent from the build server for 2 years it's quite obvious that you'd get kicked. You can always reapply again as a trial builder.
Hope my word is almost as good as Grians.

 

Thank you for clearing this up, like I said at the start I wasn't doing this for recognition or anything like that I was doing this for the story. I'm surprised by how fast this got to you, and I'm glad that it's sorted. This build is very similar to mine ild admit but it's a good sign for me. It means im on the right track. As for going back to trial builder. I probably wont.

As for the replies to this thread I think the tone was set wrongly. Keeping in mind I clearly stated before"I think" in the title. My intention was not to prove it was mine but to merly find out it's story.

I wasn't expecting to come back 2 years later. But I would have at least liked a notification even if it was through the forum telling me that I was removed. Rather than just pure silence.

 

how were you suppose to receive that notification if you weren't there for 2 years to see it

Sure, they're similar, but they're not idnetical and there's a lot of houses that look like that in Gavel.

 

what I meant was a notification of justification just saying that I was kicked, so if I do rejoin I know what happened rather than what did happen. That was absoloutely nothing

I didn't expect to still be on the team. I knew how long I've been gone for. Just I just didn't like the overall silence that was left. Not even a message was left for Incase I come back. I did tell a few people I would b gone for a while. But two years. Nope
