Hi… This is the first time I’ve done one of these things so sorry if it sucks :p

The War for Wynn: Agents of Catastrophe

We were supposed to be guardians. Heroes and saviors. Huh, those titles didn't do much for us when our forces were slaughtered...

The clacking of horses galloping in the distance made up for the distinct lack of ambient noise.
I'm Kin... I'm a diplomat, a scholar of magic sent by the Fruman Empress to aid Wynn in their eternal struggle. So far all we've been doing is riding across this desolate mountain range, I'm rather surprised that they didn't train us how to deflect such boredom! So I was hand-picked as some so-called "Elite Mage" or something by some fancy people in the monarchy and now I'm being chucked into some arcane conflict and expected to fight off legions of the dead like some dispensable pawn armed with a stick and told to fight a knight... While I was supposedly picked cause they saw some kind of magical gift in me many see this as a great opportunity to escape the monarchy, though I have never had much trouble with them as I was nothing more than a farm girl born to some farm parents and so far everything was okay, Oh how blissfully unaware I was... Then we were ambushed, we were passing through the cave that lead into the Ragni halls and we were crushed by the might of hundreds of undead soldiers, we were told they were nothing more than mindless stumbling idiots but that was not the case.

The desperate cries came from all around almost as if the cave walls themselves were in wailing.
My heart pounded as I was shoved into the front line... Oh my god, these people were CLUELESS about how to fight these things! The warriors and knights were too afraid to form a front echelon and so the enemy leaked into our screwed up formations and massacred our archers while the chain of command fell apart, the remaining forces opted for a last stand human wave attack where a wave of soldiers would charge in with their spears and attack aimlessly then another wave would follow, pick up the weapons from the corpses of the previous wave then do the same! I was then put forth into the third wave and I ran into the battle hoping I would make it to the other side until a zombie charged at me! Propelling a beam of light from my staff I shot it backward causing it to slam into a wooden beam, I looked around checking our current situation and the endless horde seemed to have dissipated a little, leaving gaps and tiny yet risky opportunities of escape to the other side of the cave. I knew that now I would have a chance of getting out and so I took in a deep breath and I spr- what THE? Soon some of our forces with the same idea in mind as me made a mad dash straight for the exit of the cave and they were abruptly surrounded and killed.

How could such beings exist? Capable of such destruction! How could they do this without even being sentient in the slightest? They were truly Agents of Catastrophe.
