I can't say much about the scene you're talking about, but I don't see how animating really affects the show. (First season is not the best compared to the second season)

I wouldn't say it is inconsistent, but rather a way to save money and time. They had to animate 25 episodes on the first season, which is pretty hefty. Plus, it's very common to find still scenes in anime, which some are considerably better than others.

As for this season, I think it's just there to show the actions more than anything. It has little to no character development, but that will improve in season two considering it made a lot more money, and the pacing/story line isn't that bad to follow.

If you're into action, I can't say much since I've only seen a few. Personally, one of the better action/comedy series I've seen would be Mob Psycho 100. (Its animation is similar to One Punch Man & My Hero Academia). Or maybe try to follow the Fate Series, which its animation is fantastic also, though I'm not really in the series since I've only seen two of the anime "seasons".

But I recommend just watching Seasonal Anime series just to understand what type of genres you might like. This will help you avoid bad anime series like SAO (My opinion) (Typically the isekai genre). Or watch a bunch of already aired anime that have been highly praised.

Thanks! I do understand that animation is costly and hard, but some scenes are dragged out so much that it gets annoying. I get it it’s an anime thing, but still. There’s only been a handful of scenes like that so far, so it’s not too bad. Plus the action scenes are pretty well done. I just don’t think they needed to have 8 parts for the battle of Trost. But I guess they had to fill out the 25 episode requirement then, so I guess it’s better than useless filler, but still.

I’ll definitely check them out, I just need to finish a few other things first.

So how is your anime/manga experience so far? What sorts of genres are appealing to you so far?

I’ve put a few of my thoughts about One Punch Man and AoT, but so far it’s... ok. It’s definitely the weirdest media I’ve seen (especially since it’s not dubbed). But I like it, I think I gearing towards the action/adventure genre since the Anime I’ve watched so far are good at fight scenes.

I’m planning to watch other genres Soon^TM, but I’ll probably stay away from Romance/Extremely weird stuff.

 

I remember watching the first episode or two back in 2015ish. It seemed OK, but I didn't really watch anime apart from at this weird club at school which was run by a teacher who could speak (reasonable) Japanese. It was supposed to be called Japanese club, but turned into Anime club. I don't watch anime, and now understand why people at school would give me weird looks when I said I went (it has a bit of a bad reputation at my school, as well, which I didn't realise at the time (won't say why, it's a bit weird and nsfw (not that anyone would be on here at work, just using the general term))). Yeah, all I remember was that the main character was op and knew a bunch of stuff about the game because he had played the beta? And some noob character who ordered teriyaki pizza lol

Yeah, my school also has a bad reputation with anime, which is why I'm pretty much the only guy who actually talks about it openly at school. So now I'm known as a weeb by pretty much everyone in my year :)

Btw, why does the intro for Attack on Titan change mid way through the season? I get it that things change in the status quo, but still. No other show I’ve seen does that.

it's pretty common for anime openings/endings to change every 12 or so episodes, kind of signifies a new season

as much as I like the Adventure Time theme song, I'm kind of tired of hearing it for like 10 seasons/250+ episodes
