wwhenevver i try to play mc 1.5 and/or 2.0 (dont ask) the game crashes

If you haven't got it working yet, the options.txt in your .minecraft directory is causing the issue. Just delete it and start the outdated version. This is happening because the keys of the file have changed back in 1.7 and Minecraft 1.5 is still trying to load the old format.
