Cralozide Crystal

I've only found one thread that mentions this, and it said the crystal was utterly useless. Will this ever become useful in the future?

where do you get these from anyway? I had one at some point but can't remember.

 

I found it in my inventory after coming back from the Volcano Isles, so I think its from a mob located there, but I honestly have no idea
