The Skulls Of Charon

So, despite my computer dying, being reborn from nothing, and the resource pack not working, I managed to do the tiniest bit of exploring on Wynn, as I havn't been on since the update

And, I decided to try to ignore the stupid "You don't have the texture pack" messages popping up every 22 seconds (for the record, I ad a client version of the pack since the server version wasn't working) and I did the Dungeon Quest for the Zombie Dungeon (come on, I'm not remembering all the dungeon names. Underworld Crypt I think?)

Anyway, I came across something interesting (will do the quest again soon to take a screenshot)

At several points, you fall down a hole of blackness. But one of these holes has skulls that drops with you.

Now, they made this done by breaking and placing blocks as you fall, which is incredibly glitchy. It would have been easier to have the skulls on invisible armor stands.

Anyway, this portion lasts a very short time. But, long enough for me to notice something weird about the skulls.

Skulls:
1) Normal Wither Skeleton Skull
2) Black with Red Eyes
3) Black with Purple Eyes and Grin
4) I didn't turn to see this one in time

Now, I can't place it. But I know #2 and #3 are familiar from somewhere.

Skien's Traitor's Ghost? That twain graveyard quest? Something else?

I can't quite place them without a picture, but I 100% KNOW that they are from other powerful entities found in the game

Does anyone think they can place them?

What could the connection be? There must be one.

 

Edit: It turns out you can't re-enter the broken-floor thing after completing the quest, so I can't actually get a screenshot. Anyone who hasn't gone the quest, if you could get a screenshot of it that would be highly useful

 

#3 sounds familiar but I can't place it.

I think when I saw it I thought the same thing. I think it reminds me of @ThaUnknown_ 's profile picture.

Defentiely A Grave Mistake. There is a jumpscare one wit red eyes for sure, allthough Grave Mistake doesnt seem like the quest you want for this tjeory of yours

I don’t think this is anything important.

 

There's two pit falls IIRC

One is when you approach the red gem in the house, and that's just a straight pit

The other one is after, and you approach a wither skeleton skull before you drop. In that pit there's skulls falling with you, or maybe the pit is just lined with the skulls. In any case, it's kinda choppy to look at

IDK, after the changes to the Twain Lore it might actually be possible to rope it in, but idk

But two of the four skulls I saw are definitely present in other locations. We KNOW that Charon is a powerful figure in the corruption, having laid waste to Ancient Nemract, this could be significant

 

Wither skulls with red eyes?

Im not sure if im right about this but I believe the decay quests and such in gavel such as the Carritat one and the halloween ones have Red skulls? Unsure I might need to check

The CT reuses art assets like every other entertainment medium. It would be unnecessary and more work if they didn’t. Don’t look too much into it. They just had falling pits with skulls as a scare factor, that’s it. It’s like saying the King of Ragni clones his subjects because there are multiple citizens and troops with the same skin... Even a CT member said it’s not significant.

And I would belive it was just a scare factor thing, if the skulls were all the same. But why make them different like that? And, use skulls we've only seen in specific circumstances?

They used different skulls to give the illusion of the skull changing and moving.

It did, he used “just” to imply there is nothing else to the pits.

 

It was just for the spooks and not really any relation to anything.
