    Shinestring Scorpion can spawn from killing shifting sand piles. Appeared to be a diamond horse armour, like 1000-2000 health, and will run away from you if you start hitting it. Be ready to chase them.

    Edit: They also make it like rain emeralds when you kill them.

    They drop a bunch of emeralds and the tail, which you can use at the glassblowing merchant.

    What can you buy with the tail though...
    Also, are these new to DnD? I'm sure I killed some special scorpion a while before the update, but it might have been something else.

    You can buy one of the necklaces there. There's other ones also sold there for items you can get around the desert, all around level 30.

    And yeah, I believe they were added with DnD. There's some other scorpions that spawn in certain areas of the desert that have been around longer, though.
