In the poisoning the pest quest the farmer says that corruption is what turns people into undead. It's directly said to us through an NPC who is suppost to teachers us about the world of Wynncraft, so i can only imagine that it is cannon info, so i'm sticking with it.

EDIT: Read the Half Moon Island lore, and it talks about how the island is full of undead, even though there are no corruption in the area. I guess undead are a more nuanced topic than i had first assumed

The corrupted dungeons, IIRC, arn't a canon part of the lore. They are just beefed up versions of the lore-official dungeons.

If you want to pick at that, you can ask that about ANY of the dungeon boss loots

I haven't started that one. after 2 broken cutscenes I decided to stop doing the quests

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't corrupted dungeons supposed to be in the future, when the whole Wynn province has succumbed to the corruption? All of the corrupted dungeon bosses' dialogue references that the corrupted dungeons indeed take place in the future, but it's most notable in the corrupted underworld crypt. If you've never done that one before, basically, what happens is General Graken leaves a note about Charon and his army resurrecting from the dead, and killing Grakens army.

I didn't say it was true just that the world looks like what happens after the war qira is preparing for, sorry if I made that confusing.

 

Though I have little source, isn't the war Qira preparing for mysterious and unknown? She probably could cleanse the Corruption (as Yansur says she could've stopped the Decay, a similar force, but chose not to: "Yansur: With her boundless knowledge, she surely would've cured it [the decay]"), so it would have to be some sort of force stronger than a clash of light and darkness. Furthermore, Qira herself says: "Qira: ...The darkness is coming...", implying it's an entirely evil force, not something in between (Corruption/Decay).

The war she's preparing for is the "War of the Realms". It's mentioned in the Wynn logo. It's basically the Light and Dark realms clashing and fighting. It started 1000 years ago with the portals opening. This already caused sided effects such as the Corruption and Decay. But, as stated by the Elves, Qira, and guys from the RoL questline, something big is coming. They don't know what it is, but it's going to be bad.

That's what Qira is preparing for.

My money is on The Eye, but no promises

 

So just thinking here...
Could the reason Qira creates all of those creatures in the Hive possibly be to create a battle force to fight in the war?
