New Glassblowing Merchant + The New Items

So, in the 1.17 changelog, there was a line that said "A Glassblowing Merchant has been added to Almuj. It can take leftover Slime Scoopers, among other things." So, I decided to track this merchant down and bring you all the item details!

To find the merchant, take a left immediately upon entering the Almuj Bazaar to see this:

I know the soft sand can be gotten by killing sandpile mobs, but does anyone know how to get the scorpio tail and crystal dust?

Sand and flesh? These wynnic fashion trends are getting outrageous.

 

Is he where the mbos that drop water bottles used to be?

 

Well, you make glass by heating up sand and then fashioning the molten material from there. The way he makes it is by blending the sand with whatever material it is that he wants you to give him. Rotten Flesh is the safest, most legal way to get that cool, swirly, cloudy-red pattern in the glass.

 

what about powders?
methinks flesh is literally only red because of blood (hemoglobin therein) so you're literally fusing blood into a necklace.

 

Well, powders have the unfortunate side-effect of adding elemental boosts and weaknesses, and that could make the intended effect go bonkers!

 

that would be even better as a GM, it would allow you to attribute stuff commonly attributed to the powder element to the item whilst simultaneously explaining the color.

 

You can rarely find a shinesting scorpion inside of a sandy pile. In addition to doing boatloads of damage (for its level), when you kill it, it will lag your computer with emeralds and occasionally drop the tail.

 

For Crystal Dust, I found a cave entrance at 1122 -2173

Exploring it should lead you to some sort of mining camp area, if you pick the right paths. From there, you should be able to find a tunnel leading to some Crystallized Miners
Kill them

 

It's mostly the cloudy swirls. Using powders would give it a sort of grainy texture, like the Marrow-Tinted necklace.

 

tfw one of the in game items is canonicly confirmed to have blood swirled into it

Well, it's the blood of people who were already dead, plus there's items like Blood-Stained Claws already.
