    From the dialogue in "Corrupted Betrayal", we know that there are two caves in Wynn that have a large abundance of slimes. The Undergrowth Ruins is one.

    How come the other cave is in the desert? How did it get there?

    they just evolved in there and the climate outside is too harsh for them to go anywhere else, I guess. the undergrowth ruins slimes are failed living weapons experiments according to the Dungeon guide on the website.
