Legendary Island Broken

So I happily picked up where I left off in my Legendary Island solo using this build: https://wynndata.tk/s/r3WibB

I fought Death Metal today several times, but every time, when I picked up the item and went to the pressure plate, it simply took my item and didn't teleport me. I've done this about 5 times now and am very frustrated. Did something break when they updated the game? Or am I simply doing something wrong?

 

I have experienced this issue before with different LI bosses.
I think this is indeed a glitch, however every time this happened to me I jumped around in the teleport room until I am TPed, and that usually works.

 

the thing is, it had been working perfectly fine before the update. After it went live, however, the teleporter just stopped working altogether and only took my item.
