    Hi Tacoman, welcome to the forums! I hope you enjoy your time here. As for your question, that depends. Did you mean loot chests or cosmetic crates?

    Loot chests: you can open a chest if it has particles around it. If there are no particles it's just decoration.

    Cosmetic crate: use your compass and click the chest on the left of the gui. There you can open cosmetic crates, if you have any.
