after a grueling 32 school days of 40 minute sessions, equating to a bit over 21 hours, i finally finished something, a new art thing born from my strange adolescent mind

some proportions may be off but at this point i don't care anymore, i'm tired. i wanna sleep.

It looks pretty cool, although chaotic. But to me the style looks like a very generic webcomic. Kind of realistic but not really. And I am not a huge fan of that although many others may be.

 

while yes the constituents of the background are pretty bright with multiple colors and distract slightly, there isn’t much else going on, besides the notes (and a rest)
keep in mind that my art style is still in limbo and i haven’t taken many classes in art so far in my life, making things a bit awkward for me
but frankly i’m not trying to make it look realistic, nothing ever has to look realistic

I understand that you may not be 100% sure about your artstyle yet, it doesn’t really matter. My opinion doesn’t really matter either. And I never meant that you should strive to make your art realistic.
I just said that generic webcomic art is ”kinda realistic but not really”. In my opinion that doesn’t look the best but others might really like it. My favorite art styles are simplistic and stylistic ones.
Also I never said that you should compare your art to others. Especially if you’re in the early stages of learning it, it will just drag you down. I was just drawing similarities between your art and an artstyle.
Please don’t take it personally as it’s only my opinion. Good luck with future drawings!

Btw an artpiece doesn’t need to have lot’s of details or components to make it realistic.
