A lot of Palestinians don't want to "play the game" and stay as refugees instead of becoming citizens or residents.
Everyone in East Jerusalem are considered residents (they can vote for the municipality but not the parliament and the majority of them don't vote cause if they do it'll be like them accepting their status

 

If Israel stopped sending settlers into palestinian territory it would be a step foward

 

Well, I don’t know what they should do then. This could go on even after my life time.

 

Israel isn't sending anyone anywhere, that is a private initiative by citizens that go settle in area C which is under Israeli rule and law

Most people don’t really know much about it, which is a little bit of a shame. Not that I’m much better though.

Jerusalem should be a free UN territory imo, giving an area praised by three religions (two of which are the largest ones) to somebody is naturally gonna cause tensions.

 

Basically, an international zone like original British Mandate intended.

 

actually, im an idiot since ther was a more "recent" UN ruling that made it an international zone which I believe is mebtioned by Yuno

 

It's such a complicated and touchy subject it's very difficult to find people who are:
1. able to talk about it
2. willing to talk about it

 

Actually the only thing he did is recognize East Jerusalem as Israeli territory.

thing is that there is a difference between an international city and a UN city, both are problematic in their own way.
the UN is extremely biased against Israel
and if you make it an international city not under UN control then how do you choose who runs it?
