@SPYROHAWK i think you might want to look at this, I don't know if there is a reason for this, maybe I'm just making up lore.

So basically, I'm sure I remember reading that the Corruption didn't spread across the ocean. I mean, that explains why there's no undead in Gavel, as they are created by the Corruption. But surely the islands in the Ocean count as being across the water. So how come there are Undead Miners (or whatever they're called) on Maro Peaks? Is that not classed as being across the Ocean? Because there are zombies/undead on certain islands in the ocean, I'm sure of that. Is it because of Baab's presence? Or that Maro's Eye Jewel you have to get in ToL? Could they have corrupted the island? Or am I just making up some lore here?

Also, is there any lore surrounding the pirate ship in the Ice Nations quest? Just curious as to where it came from if it's known. Also, the pirates are, I'm fairly sure, undead, so how did that come to happen?

Note: this thread is mainly just to answer some things I thought of. I'm not going to make a thread about some theory. If anyone wants to use the responses, feel free.

    That's very helpful...

Good questions, which I don't actually have an answer for. This is worth examining in more detail. I would separate Maros Peak and the Ghost Ship, as they are two different things. They are the only places in the ocean with any traces of Corruption, except for Skien's of course...

Yeah, I couldn't think if there were other places, didn't think there were. Does Galleons Graveyard count? I haven't done the dungeon myself, but I'm pretty sure that Redbeard died and came back to life, but I don't know how/if that relates to anything.

I'm not mentioning Galleons Graveyard since I've never actually done it, I can't say for sure what's inside of it (nor where it actually is)

I believe that corruption can spread across the ocean. You already know about skiens island and maro peaks and galleon's graveyard where this is the case. About galleon's, the fact that redbeard died and came back to life has little to do with anything;the mobs near the Lazarus Pit in gavel were brought back to life, yet it wasn't caused by corruption. No, the reason that I'm getting at is there's a corrupted galleon's graveyard portal at the forgery, implying that the corruption has spread to the island where galleon's graveyard is.

That's all the confirmed evidence I have, but if you want to hear more theory-supported-by-a theory evidence, then I have more. At the forgery, there is an oddly shaped portal next to the galleon's graveyard one. The portal is awfully similar to the color pallete of the human houses in Corkus, implying that this is a portal to corrupted fallen factory. If corruption couldn't spread across the ocean, how did it get to Corkus in the first place? That's right, it did indeed get to corkus and corrupted it, meaning that corruption can spread across the ocean.
(The above is really just wild rambling, it may be true or it may not be, so don't take my word for it.)

I haven't either, but afaik the entrance is in some random little island in the middle of the ocean.
