...I thought only paintings existed in the realm of Wynn since microchips were only a theory...?
Then again, Corkus has cameras (specifically in the Factory).
Does this support the theory/NPC dialogue that Siegfried is from Corkus?

You don't need microchips to make a camera. The first proper photos were taken in the early 19th century. It's also worth remembering that Gavel is a lot more technologically advanced than Wynn. They have airships, after all. They also have quite a lot of magic. This isn't even the only time we see photos in Gavel - they're on passports as well. If they're simple enough that they can rake photos of everyone who needs a passport, cameras must be fairly normal in Gavel. The casual way the photo is mentioned here is also a clue to that end. The citizen doesn't say 'He had time to take out a strange device that produced a lifelike painting of him'.

And yeah, Siegfried is from Corkus, but there's probably much more to his story than we know, given how commercialised he seems to be and how nobody ever says they've met him in person. Personally, I think he's dead.

Maybe not, but:

 

Gavel has electromagic, although I have no idea whether it is Corkian in origin, (perhaps Siegfried had something to do with it), but the Heart of Llevigar is definitely electromagic. The villager NPC who is supposed to fix it is even named as an electromagic engineer.
