    I lost 4 mana regen in my build. For archer that relies on spell spamming, that's immense.

    Aquarius, capricorn, shimmersight, follow the wind...all items I payed dearly for now lost 70% of the value, because the stats that mattered aren't maxed out anymore.

    Is this going to be a positive influence for the game, I don't know, so I chose "sort of". You will have to address combat style and mechanics. Archer melee should be viable. Health regen builds should be a thing. If you leave everything else how it is, then I seriously dislike the change, as the only effective way to play archer has been significantly nerfed. My build is crap now and I have no way to make it better unless I get mythics, which I can't, because grinding is shit and I have no build to begin with.

    I meant generation and cost as a list, not generation divided by cost as a mathematical formula. I see how this is confusing, I should have gone with a comma and not a slash.
    I mean for all the base values of items regarding mana and all the mana values in the game to be multiplied by 4 .

    I did multiply time by a factor of 4 and also divided it by 2. this also adds to the confusion, it's Sanfricic time math and can only be done with some serious brain fog going on.

    I'm uncertain. Is this an explanation of the rounding up towards infinity system used to derive the value of the stat from the value of the roll with a mathematical formula, a multiplication of roll value times stat base value? Or does this mean that an associative array is used with no mathematical correlation between the value of the roll and the value of the stat?

    I'm curious. Does this mean orginally rounding half away from zero was implemented while most items were designed, the rounding algorithm was then changed to rounding up towards infinity and is now reverted to rounding half away from zero? Were the people who designed the items aware of the rounding system in place? Were the items designed, with a rounding half away from zero system in mind, despite a rounding up towards infinity system in place with a change in systems planned ahead?

    I'll try to be less unclear; what I understand of this is:

    The difference in effect between rounding up towards infinity compared to rounding half away from zero is much more pronounced in ratio around zero than further away from zero. For example 2 is twice the value of 1, however 16 is not nearly that compared to 15.

    Since higher base values are less effected by this, one could take all mana values in the game: mana regeneration, mana pool and mana spell costs and multiply all these values by 4.

    For example a ring has a mana regeneration base value of 1. When using the rounding up towards infinity system, it seems, at least more or less, you have 70% chance of getting a 1/4s mana regen, and a 30% chance of getting a 2/4s mana regen if the ring has a base value of 1. If the base value of the ring is 4 times greater, this would mean a 16% chance of getting a 2/4s mana regen, 20% 3/4s, 20% 4/4s, 20% 5/4s and 4% 6/4s. However since the costs of spells are also multiplied by 4 a 6/4s mana regeneration ring in a mana times 4 system would be the equivalent of a 1.5/4s mana regeneration ring in a rounding up towards infinity system without changes to the base values.

    Higher base values give more room for fine tuning a stat.

    I'm guessing this is also something much easier to put forward than to implement. It's all academic anyway particularly since rounding half away from zero is now implemented.

    The item renting merchant is just a brain storming idea to minimize the need to nerf new items, so they can be field tested before permanent implementation.

    I completely agree. With changes coming to +attack tier items ( specifically cancer ), my Archer melee build, which was already hard to use, will be completely unusable due to -dmg%. I spent stax of le getting a godly Sundown Poncho, 2x19 SP prism, and help going through LI/hive with my horribly underpowered class. Now it will be even harder just to be a melee archer than it was before. I was planning on switching to a petrified Horror build that I put on class builds section, but now I won't even be able to get enough Mana for bombs. 8/4 Mr and 8/4 Ms changed to 4/4 Mr and 6/4 Ms. That is a 16 Mana to 10 Mana drop for a build that already requires insane skill points to use. 70/70 str/Dex is horrible for an Archer to try and reach on a spell bow to start with. Then trying to break the 105 int barrier is like climbing mount Everest, but these changes will make it insane. Being able to spell spam is what made the Archer viable. No Mana, no melee, no defense, no playability. This will basically limit the "good" Archer builds to water/air, water/thunder, and rainbow. I haven't even thought about other Mana builds for different classes yet.

    There is no infinity system. The numbers are in a defined range that the identifier randomly selects from. There is no correlation between the value of the roll and the value of the 'stat' besides: If X is greater than 1.00, Mana Regen Stat equals +2/4s. If X is less than 1.00, Mana Regen Stat equals +1/4s.
    They are still not synonymous.

    Jumla's system was apparently always the strange rounding, but I was initially informed that it would be normal mathematical rounding, hence the items were all based around that instead. Only the newest few batches of items have been based around the weird rounding, such as with items like Moulded Helm, having -2 attack tier so that they can't get a -0.

    Also, for those worried, some items have been buffed. For instance, all items like Moulded Helm, since they can no longer risk getting -0 and being op, have been reduced from -2 attack tier to -1 attack tier, and some mana items have been buffed.

    except ur not nerfing just one item, ur nerfing literally everything in the whole game. well uh every single non store item at least :/
    point is, no build is unaffected by this (unless ur only using normal/shop items), its only a matter of how much. this change breaks probably upwards of 70% of builds (random number i pulled outta my ass but seems pretty legit if u thinkg about it :/) mana regen, attack tier and skill points. pretty much the three most important ID's in THE WHOLE GAME. what build does not rely on one of these and can competently contend against end game mobs/bosses? i mean stinger quake i guess but shh...
    so ye, i guess im just upset this stuff wasnt fixed earlier lol
    like legit these items have been around and this way for like, well a rly long time now, not to mention, shit probably wasnt even tested or else there wouldnt be mistakes, right?
    like "lets add these items in the game, but they should only have 1/4mr / +1 tier attack speed!"
    *in game actually has 2/4mr / +2 tier attack speed*
    "oh whatever shall we do? push the update i guess :I"
    *one year later*
    "oh remember that stuff that shouldnt be the way it is but has a bunch of builds built around it? lets fix that NOW"

    i mean cmon, thats jsut like, bad.
    anyway, in the future, just focus more on fixing stuff than adding more of it, cuz that way there'll be even more stuff to fix and everything'd just be bad :/

    so moulded helm is -1 attack tier to -2 attack tier, and now its only gonna be -1? shouldnt it be only -2?
    by that logic, shouldnt my leictreach makani, which is -1 to -2 mana regen, stay as -1 rather than become -2?

    Right now, it's -2 tier. Under old rounding conditions, 2*1.3=2.6, round to 2. When the update rolls around, that's going to become -1. Leictreach Makani has -2 mana regen, but not to compensate for anything except the item's innate strength. It's intended to have -2 and not -1.

    Don't compare Leictreach to the balancing standards before the ID rounding changes, compare Leictreach to the balancing standards now. In terms of what items are like now I think it's still pretty good.

    air/thunder wasn't the most popular to begin with, but this is a nail in leichtrech's coffin. I agree. I know I didn't even bother to check if I spelled it's name right cause it will devolve into the void of other items this update also crippled, like para, dark channeler, summa, and the other hundreds of end game items used in builds with the previously 1-2 mana stat.

    NO -ELEMENTAL DEF
    only downside was no hp rip
    but now its actually unusable af
