I don't know about you but I've been seing a lot of selling threads where the thread owner expects his buyers to outbid each other till the bid reaches a certain point. This is wrong.

Selling threads (as far as i know) are supposed to have a or more items followed by a price on set item, and if anybody want's to buy it they pay the set price. if you're expecting bidding then you should have created an auction thread and set an expiration date.
making it a selling thread with an invisible price tag and unknown expiration date is a turn-off for some maybe even most potential buyers which in turn hurts the owner of the thread itself. had it been an auction the price was visible, had there been a buyout the buyer could get the item sooner and if no bids came to the shop the owner would know that the item was unintersting or the price requested too high.

so i want everyone reading who has a selling thread to think about why they selected the selling tag and didn't just make an Auction with the usual info:

Also sometimes, the owner of the item says Offer for some reasons. One is them not knowing the price ( yes I know there is a Price Check thread) plus sometimes people want a little more than normal. As well as having the buyer have their options of price. So that is fair game. But yes there are some Selling threads that are Auctions instead. It is annoying and they should use the Auction title.

 

If they wanted more money than normal they could just increase the price, if the item is worth it I'm sure there will be a buyer
