Media The Twisting Tower - Obscure Locations

Hello everybody, and welcome to a new series of thread I'm making called Obscure Locations!
Okay, maybe not, but I'll probably make a thread or two every now and then showing off some cool locations.

So, the location that I'm showing off in this thread is something easily spotted on the map.

This old tower just off the coast of Mage Island.

Now, before you say anything - I'm aware that this has probably been found before. It's on the map, so it's definitely been explored before.

Anyways, there are a few ways to get here. You can take a boat from Mage Island or Half Moon Island, or you could just use some spells to launch yourself across the water.

On the side of the island facing away from Mage Island, there's a dock. That's where I'm going to start today.



Going up the path, there is a cave going through the cliff on which the tower is located.



When you reach the entrance of the tower, you'll see some books strewn around. I'm going to have a word with the owner about his housekeeping skills.



And then - the bad turns into the worse. Parkour!



Making your way up the tower, you come across some hard parkour jumps. I failed a bunch on this one.



As we finally reach the top, we meet the owner of the tower - Troll. No, he's not an actual troll. His parents just hated him.




But Troll is hiding more than a painful childhood... A Tier 3 loot chest!

Screenshot isn't loading, but imagine a Tier 3 loot chest with only 19 emeralds in it.

What is this scam! Only 19 emeralds? I expect more from a chest you've been guarding for many years. Might as well jump off the tower...




A death and a few minutes later, I made it back to the water.



But down below, there's a cave with a nice Tier 2 loot chest. not as great as the Tier 3 up above, but it'll pass.


This screenshot ALSO isn't loading. Just imagine a Tier 2 loot chest with only 4 emeralds in it... Although, to be honest, that's most Tier 2 loot chests.

...or I could just get extremely unlucky. Great. There's also a prison cell down here, but other than that - that's about it for this location.



Overall, this location's pretty cool. There's a Tier 3 loot chest I guess, but the amount of effort it takes to reach it is a bit much, so I'm not expecting it to appear in many loot runs.

I also really like Troll. He's a nice side character who has no reason to exist - yet does in a spot that most normal players won't find. It's a nice touch to the amazing world of Wynncraft.

Anyways, that's about it for this. Maybe I'll do some more, maybe not - but this was fun to do. I'll put the Imgur album here as well so you can see some of my notes on the screenshots. But that's all I have for today. Thank you for reading.

This is less obscure and more just ignored because it's literally a Troll.

Looking forward to future entries, especially if you cover some less known areas.

Cool! this is one of the few places that I've never bothered to visit. I really liked the layout where you posted a picture and commented on it. One thing I would suggest is putting your FoV down to 30 to take screenshots, as that creates a image more similar to real life. And with the image not loading, I find that I have to downsize my screenshots before I can upload them successfully. Try that next time.

Edit: That sounded really corny didn't it. Ah well, it's my genuine opinion.

 

I saw this on the Map and explored it ages ago, didn't find the cave though. Mostly I was just disappointed that there was so little there. I was hoping there would be a cool bit of lore or something :(

 

Very nice build in a very empty area. Shame it was wasted on a cheap Troll.

 

Yeah I hear that the tower was implemented with the new ??? Quest because it looks like a really tall mushroom. People would climb it and spend so much time on it thinking that it was the solution, but when they reached the top, they realized that they just got Trolled lol

Hey @HowToZombie, can you do that ice castle next? If you don't want to its fine but it's quite obscure despite being on the map, and I've never bothered to go there. Yep that's right - I'm using you to see places where I've not bothered to go. Seriously though, I think you should do more of these. They're pretty cool.
