Weapon Models And Vr

To preface, wynn in VR is really fun. There aren't any gameplay advantages to be had, aside from enjoying yourself even more. There also aren't any steps necessary for other players to take so that I (or you!) can play in VR. Everything is client side.

I just got my Rift from the big sale they're having this summer (if you're wondering, $400 for the headset + the motion controllers). There aren't really any big VR MMORPGs, so I figured I'd bring the experience here. It's pretty darn cool, in all aspects but one. Weapon models get a little funky, and I'm not sure if this is due to the models themselves or something with my version (I've tried 1.12 and 1.10).

(And no, I don't see everything this smushed down when I play. That's just the recording)

Is there a way to make the skins look a little more sizeable/functional? They always seemed fine until I got a closer look at them. Is it just something with 1.10+, or am I missing something?

I'm no youtuber, but that's a great idea! Anything is fun in VR, especially a big open world MMORPG with fun quests and lots of ways to play.

On the other hand, you could play vr wynn instead of just watching. It's a blast!

Well hey, the tech is only going to get cheaper and better. Maybe you could even fund an eventual head/bodyset with that youtube series!

I've never seen wynn vr or much vr gaming in general, but this makes me want to get one now lol. I can't think of a solution to this other than making a custom pack that is edited to work well with vr. I couldn't do that, but maybe if there were other talented vr wynn players, they could make a edited pack for you, which would be awesome.

 

Hopefully it's just something simple with the pack, but I'm interested to see if/how other vr players make it look cooler. If there are any, hah.

 

Nice to see that VR Players are actually getting a decent reception in Wynn this time around.

In all seriousness, Wynn in VR is p cool, but some of these problems won't be fixed without a mod, and Wynn's selling point is mod free

I don't think (or hope) the issue will come down to a mod, rather the sprite or type of item itself . Either way, any solution would have to be something that wouldn't affect the server or its other players.

Hah, sorry but I worked mine off, after splitting the cost with a sibling. It really isn't a big expense, compared to $1200 gaming pcs and $400 monitors that people run nowadays (some people..).

As for the topic itself, tomorrow I'll be testing to see if the pack works in singleplayer. Just for curiosity's sake.

That's actually pretty cool, but realistically we probably wont focus on making VR better there's just so many other things we have to do before then.

Not asking that anyone implements anything new; VR works just fine without you guys having to do anything. I'm only wondering whether the weapon models being small is a version thing, a resource pack thing, or an item thing, and whether or not any other vivecraft player has found a client side workaround.
