Lore Contradiction?

Firstly, as amazing as @jpmrocks is, he is not a CT member and therefor his timeline is bound to be wrong in some parts. That 240 number can't be correct, given that they were around before the portal opened. Also, I think that timeline was made when we still thought the portal opened 100 years ago.

Secondly, you must recognize the timelines has a small gap in it. 1000 years ago, the portal opened. But, minsters didn't come out of the portal right away. Not until the miners dig too far into the Nether did the undead awaken, but we don't know how long.

But even if your math is right, it's still possible. We know the 4 masters were not exactly "mortal" as they appear and disappear randomly at will in the lore. And we know Mael, with his dark magic refused to die until he passed his knowledge to someone else, AND he also knew how to preserve his spirit after that. Due to his magic, it's possible he lived that long. And due to the masters not exactly being "mortal", it's entirely possible.

aren't bob's trainers implied to be ghosts/visions? in the lore post on bob, it says that at the end of his training, the 4 masters all materialize in front of him, say some stuff and then disappear, and the people around him ask why he's crying when there's no one there.

 

This lore contradiction probably stems from one major issue: you're using the wrong timeline thread. The source of the Twain brothers being adopted ~120 years ago is one of Grian's official lore threads. The source of the same brothers coming together to fight the corruption is unmentioned in this thread so far. It's possible, thanks to the forum wipe of 9/7, that this lore was forgotten when contradicting lore was created, but until I get a source for the contradiction we can't go much further.

It's probable the first one has incorrect information. Since then it has been double and triple-checked by himself, me, and CT members, and accordingly updated in new threads.

I recall something like this but I'm not entirely sure. It might be hard to source if it's from one of the lore threads. Any ideas where we could find info to back this up?

I suppose that could explain it, though it's also possible that, being masters of magic, they sent apparitions to him. Then again, Mael does die soon after teaching Bob.

To be honest at this point it's possible that different sources of lore really are just contradicting themselves, the more recent libraries and in-game content versus the threads from the loremaster himself, Grian.

There may be no right answer until the storyline is out or until Grian comes out and dismisses one source or the other.

 

The libraries ARE Grian's lore threads, just put in the game.

This seems to be the case for Bob's lore, which has been the same the entire time, but other Libraries seem to have some contradictions to them. Perhaps I'm just mis-remembering. In any case, there are some minor contradictions to be found in the Lore, but this one I think I cleared up in a separate thread of Gert's.

 

At the end of the day, the lore has holes because it has changed so many times. Let me take you back a long time ago when it used to be that the fall of Ancient Nemract was 100 years ago

What Im saying is that they probs didnt think of the lore hole and just ignored it at the time they added Mael into the lore

Also, nesaak citizens said they rememebr when nesaak wasn't all snowy, meaning that they we're alive when Theorick was alive, meaning Mael was also alive at most, a hundred years ago for sure
