Visualizing Current Meta Items

Recently I had the idea of visually mapping out the stats of Wynncraft's current "meta/rainbow" items to see what they all have in common. The results show exactly what you'd expect. All of the meta items are either widely spread out, or geared towards 1-3 categories. These categories include hit points (max 5k), mana regen (max 7/4s), powder slots (max 5), dmg bonuses such as melee, spell, and poison (out of 100%), elemental defenses (max 1k), and skill points (max 100).

There is a correlation between higher item demand and higher area size for most cases.

The data isn't entirely perfect. (There may be some minuscule accuracy mistakes due to rounding) Also, I couldn't make a separate category for each ID, otherwise it would become too cluttered. These were the adjustments I made.

5% walk = 100 hp (HP is usually sacrificed for walkspeed, and faster move speed allows you to dodge more attacks, thus increasing your survival rate)

100 poison = 1% damage

200 life steal = 150 hp

250 raw spell damage = 5% damage

2/4 mana steal = 1/4 mana regen

Furthermore, I had to make my own changes to some of the items to respect their actual in-game use. Cancer is a perfect example of that. It contains too many IDs that make it impossible to calculate a dmg %. I gave it a 100% boost in the end due to its ability to transform a super slow weapon into super fast. But all of this depends on the weapon the player uses, making cancer (along with gemini and some others) a very situational item.

And yes, I do realize that all of the LI bracelets and necklaces are considered meta, but there are too many to graph.

Now, in order to see why these items synergize so well together, I constructed a composite graph for two of the most popular builds: Full Rainbow and Attack Tier Speed.

As you can see, nearly every single aspect of the hexagon is covered when using a full rainbow build! The darker areas represent an increased number of points in their respective section. Therefore, this build has relatively high hp, average mana regen, decent powder slots, decent damage boosts, great defenses, and amazing skill points. All of this is supported by Wynndata's calculations.


Next let's look at the standard melee assassin or warrior build used for soloing bosses.

Yet again, there are no surprises at all. Melee builds are one of the highest dealing damage builds due to their ability to turn a super slow weapon into a whirling machine of death. Additionally, hive armor allows the builds to have high elemental defenses and hit points against bosses. But this build falls short in mana regen and skill points when compared to a rainbow build, as visualized by the hexagon.


All in all, this is simply a fun idea I had for mapping out items. Is it useful for making builds? Perhaps. Interesting and pleasing to the eye? Definitely. It ultimately reveals what we'd all expect, that the best builds are those that have items to cover each area, or are highly focused on strengthening 1-2 specific areas.

Now add the hive helmet and we can see how over powered my tree build is.

 

Stardust, Gravity, Gemini, Gaea-Hewn, and rainbow accessories actually give you 17 more elemental defense than your tree build. Yeah it's not much of a difference, but I'm not going to include anima-infused since it isn't used much.

Thanks! It's not an original idea though. A lot of games use visualization of stat points (usually in a pentagon) since it looks interesting. I just thought it would be cool to make one for Wynn.

Fair point I guess. But it's honestly used too little to be considered meta in my opinion. Blue mask has its uses in multi-mythic builds and third eye can be found in use occasionally. Besides, the whole point of this thread is to give some examples of the visual stats of meta items. It's not to rank which items are considered meta.

I just like to watch those graphical representations of values. It looks damn fine.

 

Technically morph stardust should have a little bit towards damage because it increases skill points which then provide a small % boost to damage

 

Why the union jack? What's British about rainbow tank builds? You should also have added a mythic attached to the cannon with duct tape....
