Is There Anyway To Check My Chat History?

I was talking to some guy the other day about selling an item, but he ended up not buying it. Just recently, I found an item that I think would be suitable for him and would like sell it to him, but I don't remember his ign. Is there anyway that I could check my chat history so that I could find his ign?

 

Yes. Find your logs folder in .minecraft:

Inside should be a bunch of .gz files from different dates. If you have WinRAR, you can open them normally. Without, I'm not sure. Inside, you'll find a .log text document, which contains a log of everything you said on a server on the date in the name.

Scroll down more in the text document and you'll find more plain chat logs rather than info logs.

As far as I can tell, each day has a separate text log for each server you join on that day.
EDIT: On second look, it may be one log for each time you join a server. In any case, just check all the logs from the day this happened.
