Road To Dern Speculation

Can you please explain how your speculated map provides the better explanation for the Corruption than mine? I certainly am not ignoring the corruption, and I'm certainly not making Dern any further away from Wynn. The corruption is still rather mysterious, it's not as if we already have a perfect explanation that this ruins.

There are good arguments for both sides. In any case, corruption does not appear to be spreading across Wynn in a linear fashion. Also, all of the ties to light seem to be in the Western half of Gavel. This is why the decay starts in the North-west, it's a decay of the influence of the Light. Dern seems to be focused in the south-east of the map, so that's where the portal is. Everything else seems to be a sort of battleground, and the topography means that Dern could have taken all of the East of the map just as Gavel took the North. Maybe the north-east is an entirely different demon province or something, it's speculation, we don't know. However, I maintain that my map thing fits in with current lore.

 

i still dont understand how you believe its east, and the decay happened because of a parasite, not the "influence of light", and there is nothing called linear spreading corruption, the portal of nether is the corruption itself, that is where all the monsters come from, and the corruption is fading as i said earlier. and no, it does not fit with the lore at all, we shall see.
