Galleon's Graveyard Ship Battle - Pls Send Help

I'm trying to grind Galleon's Graveyard for the Admiral chestplate, but ugh my god the ship battle part is asinine. It takes me like, 15-20 minutes each time, but somehow in this current attempt, I've been going for about 40 freaking minutes and still havent won. I dont know if I'm even making progress. Is there some kind of actual strategy that I could be using to speed this up? The rest of the dungeon is sooooo easy. Please send me tips, I'm slowly losing my mind...

 

You should try to get a friend, they'll help you out a lot

 

erm, that's not the problem. Only one of the player ship's cannon can be fired at one time and they're lit within a block of each other.

To clarify a bit, I'm NOT having trouble getting my cannon's to work or in countering the enemy's, but rather i cant come up with a sound strat to actually score hits on the enemy ship. It seems like total rng to even come close...

 

1. Destroy the opposite cannon's balls
2. Use the cannon that you used to destroy opposite's cannon ball
3. Shoot the others
4. Repeat

Also there are redstone lamps that show you your progress

 

Did you start firing before the enemy ship? The first time I did that dungeon I waited until the ship fired.

it's bugged out cuz once 2 cannon balss hit each other all of them disappear

 

That ones kinda weird, as in, I've never heard of this before. The cannon balls have to hit each other in order for the player to stop the attack, and in order to hit the enemy ship. Anyway, we know that the game is not working as well as we wanted, and that generally means, that someone is working on fixing it. Don't know when, don't know how. Now, all of the questions are answered, so I'm closing the thread.
