No, after starting it you still have to complete labN in Yahya's house, then if you have the 3 meteors you can enter the old meteor and complete the quest alone.

 

do you really HAVE to do Lab N, even if you have, for example, the 3 shards already?

 

Yes, your stage won't update if you don't and you won't be able to complete the quest.

 

but there are no real stages cause you don't start the quest (until you already finish it)... I thought every step you do to get into the old meteor is just pure preparation to get in

 

you start it at the computer (the npc ok)

 

no it won't let you complete it because when you go through N Lab it might not seem like it but it updates your quest book so you can turn it in and that stops people from soloing it (I think)

 

that makes sense now.... and there I am, offering people to help with the meteor shards I got in my bank... but they didnt even got to Lab N yet.. fml ._. and I threw away the feather. D:
