Quest Or Lore Part?

Found this near Detlas mines,there were a messages from miners on signs
First message was: "One of the miners,who loves flowers,seems to be hiding something..." (1screenshot)
Second message was:"I saw one of the miners shoving something under his pillow,I wonder what it was"(2scr)
Third message:"I wonder what that thing the miner found does?I wonder if it is connected to the mine..."(3scr)
So i started to throw emeralds in pillows(white carpets) and one of them accepted my emerald (4scr,right carpet) and i heard hopper,and i run in mine,but i didn't find something interesting,so does anyone know what is this?Quest?Or something?

 

It's related to the "fake relic" easter egg. Basically a hidden door opens up somewhere after you throw an emerald in the hopper, and in that room is a sign saying "What you're looking for is not here" or something like that.

Basically, a troll and a waste of time.

 

does that mean Dern was actually a hoax all this time
