Info We've Edited The Macro Rule.

As the title says, we've re-written the macro rule. The old rule was that macros were not allowed, however, we discussed that more than a year, I believe, and the players and the mods came to an agreement. We agreed that because some players have difficulty with rapid mouse clicks, for various reasons, that macros would be allowed only under certain situations. The rule read, "(Macros are allowed for spell combinations, as long as they are not on a loop.)" Recently, some players were hunting for a way around that rule, and thought that they found one. However, if you set a macro to do more than one game action, like a double or more melee attack, that is a loop. And loops aren't allowed. So, yesterday, we made one small change to the rule. It then read, "(Macros are allowed only for spell combinations, as long as they are not on a loop.)"

Well, wouldn't you know it? It seems that some of you have the minds of a legal eagle. So, we heard a bunch of "ifs", "ands", "ors", and "buts". Now, look, it was hard enough to get macros allowed under a vary narrow rule, and some of you were making life hard for some of us that fought to get ANY macro allowed, at all. So, now, we've looked at the rule, AGAIN. It now reads, "(Macros are allowed as long as they're not on a loop. They also must not provide a faster attack than can be performed by the user, manually. Spells, and melee attacks cannot be on loops. Attacking in quick succession with the use of macros is also not allowed, this includes spells and melee attacks.)"

Just to make this tl:dr - you can only use a specific macro for one spell, and it can only fire off one spell. Set all of the macros that you want, but it's one macro fires one spell. And no super-fast macro key clicks, either. Too much lag. Too much unfair. Don't be a cheater.

Just a question, how do you plan on catching people who use loop macros? Is there a system that can detect that? I think there should be, because otherwise people will continue to use this as long as they know they won't get caught.

If you don't use a macro, you can click however fast you want. =P

 

You never defined what "quick" or "fast" is to you. Quick or fast are not standardized units of meassurement, so it's all relative. What is fast for you is not necessary fast for me.

Can you please elaborate that? As in, there needs to be a "cooldown" between 2 macro spells? Or, I cannot fire 2 spells with macros faster than I can fire them normally?

Ahhh I remember when i tried making a macro for warp to swap to another wand every 4 seconds...

Couldn't you just position a wand right next to your warp and use the scroll wheel to change to it every 4 seconds instead of having a piece of software do it for you?
