prevent spams from killing the forums

 

1. We don't want people advertising for random stuff.
2. To prevent people from spamming stuff like L or something in comments and threads.

 

It is so frustrating though, it's like not letting people under 16 to your 13th birthday party -_-

Well if you're new to the forums, just post some comments on threads and you'll get 10 posts in no time.

This analogy doesn't make sense at all.
It's more like only inviting friends to your birthday party.

The 10 post limit is to prevent bots from posting links.
The 10 character limit is to make sure you think before posting threads like these.

1. That's what staff is for.
2. It's obviously effective anyways since you're making this thread.

 

By the analogy I meant that you yourself aren't allowed to the party, by the partry I mean this forum, and the age is the number of posts.

I came to these formus to price check, and I couldn't because of the limit, I think it would be better to encourage people to come to the forums, do the limit (ideally without even knowing about the limit) and THEN when they actually need to come to the forums they can post.

 

In which case the analogy is still incorrect because it's 10 posts on a tens-of-thousands post website.

Just post some suggestions to break the limit.
Or some crap in the off topic.
Come up with a lore idea.
Or just type all the stats into a spoiler in the price check thread.
