Issue Or Needed Assistance With The House Of Twain Quest

So after a couple hours of my peanut brain making an attempt to discover Twain's Journal and me realizing the ****** rug was the beast, I was led to disappointment. I threw 1 emerald in the right eye and 1 in the left, however the left eye didn't appear to be consent with my generous tribute of 1 emerald, and I'm now seriously clueless on what exactly to do. Is it a bug or am I mentally challenged? Please comment below.

 

Switch worlds because the hopper in the left eye is probably full.
