How Do These Identifications Exactly Work?

There's no real official thread or anything for Identifications so let me ask this..

1. Explosion - how does it calculate its damage?
2. Reflection - does this only reflect spells?
3. Thorns - does this reflect both melee and spells?

For thorns and reflection, does the total % increase the chance, the damage or both?

We all have a general idea on how most things work, but there are some I don't really get answers to / mixed answers about.

I mean.. it shouldn't tell you everything, but it'll give you a start and it contains a whole lot of info I don't know nor could I explain to you.

Explosion: Damage=the damage of the finishing blow to the mob that blew up
Thorns: Only reflects melee (including archers right click)
Reflection: Only reflects spells
The above two the % will increase the chance, with both reflecting 100% damage to mobs(I think), 50% to players

 

What I know is:
Explosion: Gives Neutral damage to the mobs that were in the range upon the death of mob you attacked with Explosion ID. Percentage means the probability, the damage stays 100% but all converted to Neutral, this fucks up the fights with high-elemental mobs, such as Qira.
Thorns/Reflection: If I recall correctly, what reflects Melee is Thorns, and for spells it depends one by one, like Thorns reflect Bomb Arrow and Reflection reflects Arrow Shield. I don't remember the whole list, so it'd be better to ask those PvP veterans sitting in WC1 Detlas.
Also these IDs reflect damage with 150% amplifier for mobs, 50% for players. (Source)

 

Thanks for the help, I'll try to test the speicifcs for thorns reflec later on just for fun (what else is there to do in this bloody game).

But after doing a 14k~ meteor I did 47k damage from exploding?

 

Explosion occurs on killing mobs, when u kill a mob, it causes explosion to damage mobs nearby with the last damage u hit(melee).
Reflection: Works on meteor and arrow storm only
Thorns: Works on Bash Uppercut War Scream Arrow bomb Escape Arrow Shield Ice snake Meteor ground fire Spin Multihit Smoke bomb
% increase=the chances of reflecting damage, same as explosion

 

Does it have courage/curse on? They buff explosion damage

Yea I stacked endurance and courage to try and hit a fat meteor but got 47.8k exploding. Still, I see some 20k+ explosions when using cancer apoc at LI too, don't really get it.

 

Courage will buff exploding damage, 14167+200x4+992=15959
And exploding damage is 47873
then 47873/15959=2.99999xxxxx =3
Which means those damage is magnified by courage
I dont know if math is correct or not, but all I know is exploding damage can be buffed by courage/curse.

 

Courage increases explosion damage
And for Cancer Apoc it's probably courage increasing damage
