Media What Does 1.12 Mean For Wynncraft?

It means people who are too lazy to change their settings can okay wynncraft.

Don't look into it, parrots are going to show up on wynn beaches anytime soon.

 

We first have to look at what 1.9 gives us and go from there, since we will be getting 1.8 booted. Then we look at 1.10 and 1.11.

So Shulkers, they could be quite an interesting turret style mob, or just the use of their attack thing could be a spell, and then we have some new blocks for the builders, along with the elytra and the offhand.

The 1.10 update gives us mob alterations, a few new blocks, and that's about it. Sadly, this is really it unless i forgot something, hopefully we can just hop over this and go 1.9 -> 1.11 with the small size of 1.10.

1.11 gives us a bit more, including the Illager mobs that could be the inhabitance of Dern (could i say), Llamas as a new Horse-style mob for more carrying space (of which could be quite interesting), rockets for the elytra as earlier mentioned, as well as a few new items like the Totem, and Iron Nugget.

THEN, and only then can we discuss what wynncraft could use from 1.12 to improve gameplay.

 

I think they should either be 1.8-1.12, or 1.12+. I do not know many players who play on the versions in between (unless u 1.11 wynncraft enhanced or didn't update yet), as anyone who likes to pvp plays 1.8 and everyone else plays 1.12. However, as the pvp aspect of wynncraft is not effected by attack speeds, I think an update would be a good idea, even if I dislike the newer versions.

 

I'm so excited for the new version, 1.9 looks amazing

1.10 added structure blocks, this could get used in wynn
anyways, if 1.12 mapmaking comes into wynn, I'll be sure to apply and create the greatest thing ever made

Why does mojang focus on survival this much? It doesn't make sense the amount of players is so small compared to the multiplayer community

 

The 1.10 structure blocks and 1.9 Command Block updates are not multiplayer-friendly? Minecraft is a survival game, the multiplayer aspect comes after. What about 1.12 is inherently not multiplayer friendly to begin with? More blocks most survival players wouldn't care about, used for building with more viberent colors and designs?

 

Well even if it's a survival game, why does survival take priority above multiplayer if the multiplayer playerbase is much bigger?

I just found it funny when I read this thread and a few hours later that was announced ;D

 

Because they focus mainly on the survival content, even I don't do multiplayer often besides wynncraft
Minecraft is a survival/creative game

Recently they started adding a small support for the modding community (recipe books should support mods and shit), which is definitely a step to the right direction
They already fixed a lot of glitches concerning multiplayer, so they do care about that, they just don't support plugins and stuff like this right now.

And in 1.12 comes functions, which is an awesome tool and I don't doubt will be used in wynncraft
Command blocks are easy to work with in multiplayer, BUT wynncraft doesnt allow clocks so that makes everything harder (and here comes the functions, maybe they'll allow functions loops)

Well I like the command block changes but I don't think it's really nessecary to add stuff like a structure with noting in it, polar bears or parrots.

 

Polar Bears are indeed a really bad move from mojang even for the survival game. They have no purpose, a high amount of work (cool attacks, cool behavior), no useful drops... That's so sad, they could've been so much better. And let's not talk about llamas, which you haven't mentionned probably because you forgot their existence... (they're more useful than polar bears at least)
But parrots are useful in the base game, they warn you when mobs are nearby (even creepers), and wynncraft can use them for like beaches and stuff...

About the structure, I can't tell which one are you talking about. Igloos are indeed pretty much useless (a free golden apple, yay awesome)
Woodland Mansions are massive but their loot is indeed a bit underwhelming. The totem of undying is awesome, but it doesn't prevent all the deaths (dying in the void/lava/drowning) so I'd say people only use it for the new challenge added in 1.12...
