Kotaku is the gaming part of a bigger network of blogs/feeds/articles/anything else social media-related.
While I can't speak specifically to this wonderful project you guys got going on here, being new and all, gaining this kind of exposure has always been both a bane and a boon.

Here's to hoping the good outweighs be bad.

Edit: Ironically, every single time Kotaku has "written an article" regarding anything from remade versions of Pokémon, private WoW-servers or pretty much anything fan-made, they've been shut down by the companies (Nintendo/Blizzard) or toppled in pretty much any other fashion. I've no idea how that could happen here but it's starting to look like a curse.

 

Opinion you didn't ask for time:
I am cautiously optimistic about this. This feels kind of like when Sjin did his Wynncraft series—yeah it got a lot of exposure (250K Views), but I don't think there was a massive influx of new players that stayed. I do not know much about Kotaku, but I do wish the author had actually researched the game before writing the article.

On the whole, I think that new players are good for the server, and I hope that we as a community can welcome them with open arms.

But if someone asks me about /warp...

 

I like playing with new players, they are always full of wonder and amazement

 

Can people please stop complaining every time the server gets popular by advertising or a big Youtuber?
Yeah sure it might bring "Noobs" but it's not like they can harm you in many ways, Also there isn't even a clear definition for "Noobs" (Not even gonna start talking about the fact that the original word was supposed to be Newbie and not a noob).
This kind of stuff could support the server in so many ways...
I bet we're still gonna get quite a lot of good players from this article.
Wynncraft is a game where you either quit after playing it for 5 minutes or keep playing it for years.
At a certain point in the game you need to actually do shit like "Reading" to progress, Which is why noobs ain't gonna stay here for long, This isn't some Arcade Minecraft server, This is an MMORPG.

Wynncraft honestly is the most underrated Minecraft server out there in my opinion, So I'm glad it started to get a bit more recognition.

 

New players --> More "Is that found ?" --> More "nicefind" comments --> More like.

I do agree, once new players get to a point where the game gets a little more complicated, then we'll start seeing the difference between engaged players and 5-minute noobs.

Though, can you really blame us? Most of the heated comments on this thread aren't really about many new players, it's more about Kotaku being infamous more than anything, I bet you right now that if it was something else besides Kotaku making an article on Wynncraft, there would be much less negative comments.

 

Also can someone go roast that scrub Seann in the comments for spreading lies?
