Overwatch Vs Paladins

So as many of you are already aware, there's this new game that came out called Paladins: Champions of the Realm. You can tell the game developers came up with that name on the spot, just like they came up with this game, on the spot. So Paladins is the new kid on the block, trying to fit in with the cool kids, Battleborn and Overwatch, and to be completely honest it's not doing a very good job of it. Many people call Paladins, "Overwatch for poor fucks", now it is free but, it's no where near as polished and clean as Overwatch/Battleborn.

So this game is utter horseshit, I'm sorry but there's no other way to describe it. The balancing is atrocious, some characters are rip-offs of Overwatch heroes, and the game's "power-up" system is pathetic. Alright so I've put quite a bit of time into playing Paladins, unlocked some new characters, had some experience, and I've seen the issues with the balancing in this game. There's some Widowmaker wannabe called Kinessa, who has one of the most overpowered weapons in the game, let alone the fact that she has little mine looking things that slow down enemies and deal damage. Her discount Widow's Kiss, can body shot anyone and kill them instantly. If it doesn't kill them instantly, they're just left with very low health. Then there's some Soldier 76 type character called Viktor. Let me just say his little rifle fires so fucking quickly, and deals so much damage. Oh Skye's arm shooter thing has the same problem as Viktor's.

The game's developers obviously saw the amount of success Blizzard's characters (Heroes) in Overwatch had. Many like the fact that they're all unique and mostly original. So the developers decided to completely rip off some of the heroes from Overwatch. If you don't know who the characters im talking about are, just look them up as I give this list. Viktor- Soldier 76, Makoa - Roadhog, Drogoz - Pharah, Fernando - Reinhardt, Barik- Torbjorn, Kinessa- Widowmaker, Ruckus- Dva, and then there's Androxus and Bomb King. I can't say Androxus and Bomb King are rip-offs, however Bomb Kind's ult is just Junkrat's RIP-Tire, and Androxus is Reaper and Mccree mixed together with terrible abilities.

Did I mention that they couldn't even come up with a different name for the character's special abilities? They just simply call them ultimates, boy I've never heard that before. This is the last I'm complaining about, so you can go be happy and shit. So the unique thing about Paladins is the little power-up menu that you can use to use power-ups during the game. These power-ups can range from damage resistance, to damage increase. You need credits that you get from the games you play to unlock and level up these power-ups. The thing is these power-ups don't do jack shit, some say "Damage resistance from direct attack by 10%" 10%? Are you kidding me? What the hell is 10% damage resistance gonna do when you have some bastard like Kinessa that can one shot your fucking body? There's also other power-ups that don't do anything useful, and by useful I mean that can be convenient in any scenario. Most of the power-ups are very select and not very general.

Alright I want to know what you guys think about this game and the things that I mentioned.

 

paladins is fun, i've never played overwatch but its probably way better

 

It's next to impossible to hit anyone other than Kinessa with Kinessa's rifle because they're always running around so fast. Viktor's rifle is good, but it doesn't come close to overpowered. Skye's dinky little pin missile deals shit damage. The only character that I would say is overpowered is Ruckus simply because of his Ultimate.

Just my opinion.

 

Overwatch = rich ppl
Paladins = poor ppl

 

Paladins was pretty neat when I tried it out, but Overwatch blows it way out of the park. Overwatch is just so much more polished and balanced.

 

TBH: I like both games. I feel Paladins is for the people who don't want to spend or can't spend the money for Overwatch. It's a good alternative for Overwatch.

 

Paladins is a new game, and is still in beta.... But is a very nice game, who work on Low Computers (Like Mine)... So, i select Paladins.

 

I'm just sitting back in my scrap metal chair, getting a beer, grabbing some popcorn, and watching this Overwatch vs. Paladins debate rage on as I play some good old-fashioned, hat-filled conga simulator Team Fortress 2.

 

Another Overwatch fanboy, huh? I know that thisthread is quite old but I still want to clear some things up.
1. You said that Paladins is a clone of Overwatch, even though Paladins had most of it's main champion abilities way before Overwatch even had something such as ''Nanoboost'' or ''Molten Core''.
2. Of course you get bitchy when it comes to the only sniper in the game, but every team-based game in the genre Paladins is in should at least have a sniper (or something similar to a sniper), so stop moaning about both games having snipers.
3. The Viktor deal is literally bassed off your generic FPS or CoD type of character: shoots fast, has a buttload of ammo and has quick get-aways.
4. So what if the special abilities are called ultimates? What, do you think that they're gonna call it Super Special Champion Power or something like that?
5. You are complaining about most of the characters behaving like OW characters, even though, as I said before, the game was in closed Beta before OW popped up and it just so happens that those specific characters you're complaining about already where in the damn closed Beta.

So just because OW is popular doesn't mean that a similar game that was in closed beta before OW even got out on the markets is a copy of it just because you discovered it later and didn't do your research properly. Both games are good really, so even if OW copied Paladins or Paladins copied OW, they're still pretty good. That and your argument is pretty one-sided, so try to view a point from different views.

Have you even read the beginning of my post? I think not. The thing is, Paladins is getting so much hate just because it's free to play and people automatically think that F2P is garbage and/or a copy of another game. I just wanted to clear things up, that's all.

Because this thread was pretty one-sided. That and I can't even bother to just search up another thread since I'm not really interested in forums anymore, so I will spend as much time as I consider enough. Heck, it was so blind when it came to the differences between Paladins and Overwatch that I had to post a somewhat decent reply (not had to but you get what I mean).
That and I at least have a bigger sense of logic than you.

 

first i want to say that i choose neither so don't start raging.
paladins was actually earlier in alpha then overwatch and characters have their simularities but are still diferent since paladins characters all have 3 abilities and an ult while overwatch have two or 1. personally i play paladins sometimes since i'm not that into shooters and overwatch is something like 40 or 50 euro
