SPOILER Corkus, The Factory And Other Theories- Spring Making His Return.

Ech. It's been long since I've made one of these.

THE SUPER AMAZING THREAD OF CORKUS LORE!

So, let's start with Corkus itself. I'll do an explanation as a surprising amount of people on the forums don't know what it is.

Corkus is an island. It is inhabited by two species, humans and Avos. Avos are bird-like with humanoid figures. They are the original inhabitants of Corkus, and are fine with the humans living with them. These humans however, are mostly escapees from Fruma. They settled in Corkus, and coexisted with the Avos. They were not capable of using magic, so instead they created incredible machines. These machines now run rampant all over Corkus after going rogue, but more on that later.

Now, onto the juicy shit. Let's start with the factory.
The most exciting part about The Factory is when the computer says

" [1/3] Antikythera Supercomputer: Antikythera Firewall Pass B accepted. Access granted. Welcome, Cerid. You may now enter the Antikythera Main Core Chamber. "

This is amazing. This tells us that CERID, the tinkerer, is a Corkian. Or well, he created The Factory. Which makes me think he was the ORIGINAL ESCAPEE leading the Corkians OUT OF FRUMA. He could be the person that the statue depicts, although this is just speculation. Cerid. Cerid's Ingenuity, an item. Cerid's Ingenuity, created The Factory, and let it fall to its demise. Which leads me to my next point;

Cerid is still in the factory, like a man-child. I feel like he's desperately trying to keep the factory alive and trying to convince everyone that it is still good. (With a neckbeard and 2 litres of mtn dew, and a little bit of dorito breath)


Alright, let's try something else. I want to examine Rensa's text, as @Ascended Kitten asked me to ;^;

We did not cause the 'war'. Lands of sin, warring travellers and greedy merchants. Wynn & Gavel. Who is our ultimate enemy- the possible Fruman monarchy? Did they abuse us? I believe they brainwashed us and used us. Are we just being used by the Monarchy? We just don't know until more lore comes out. This is incredibly interesting though, I really want to know about our past in Fruma. Are we brainwashed? Is Rensa secretly trying to warn us? Is Rensa his/herself secretly trying to help us? Even if he/she did try to kill us, she isn't wrong. Or maybe she is? Maybe the Fruman monarchy are actually good. Maybe she is trying to paint Frumans in a bad light to stop us from going back there and discovering the truth of Corkus. Corkians were an extremist group. That's probably pushing it loads, but it's interesting to think about.

Corkus isn't a province, although they want to be. The whole reason they created The Factory was to build an army to aid Wynn, so the could be recognised as a province. But what if this wasn't the only reason? What if that wasn't the reason. Perhaps they tried to build an army so big, so powerful that they could overthrow Wynn, and in turn, Fruma. Again, this is pushing it loads but I like to think about it. It is a possibility that Cerid fucked up The Factory so bad that the Corkian government had to shut it down, to stop the Mechs from becoming sentient and taking over Corkus.

I should really stop my imagination getting control of me.

There are a few things left out and a few iffy terms, but this actually a rather good thread about Corkus and it's lore.

A good read, and probably very interesting to those who haven't completed the quests related to Corkus. Not a suggestion, so I'm not sure why I'm treating similarly, but nice thread.

 

Actually, the Corkians ARE capable of using magic. They weren't originally, but as the Wynn Tales of the Isle of Industry says, they eventually figured out how to use electromagic
