Whenever you swap server's, there's normally a message saying you cannot open a loot box for 'x' minutes when you try to open a high tier one.

Is that cooldown for the server, or player?

For example: if it says I cannot open this for 23 minutes, does that mean I have to wait 23 minutes on that server to open the chest, or on the network to open a chest of that tier on any server?

    Thanks in advance!

You need to wait that amount of time on the specific server

Oh so if the server restarts, then I have to wait that time again on another server? :l

Yes, the same rule applies for switching classes and logging out manually.

Aw, that sucks. I was hoping it'd be a player cooldown. Thanks for clearing that up!

It's there so that people can't get good items really fast by just going to a lv4 loot chest spot and changing servers a bunch

Yeah, I know why it's there, but a player cooldown rather than a server one would work too.

Rather than "you have to wait x minutes on this server to open this chest" it would be "you can only open this tier of chest every x minutes on the network"

I may sound dumb for this please excuse my slowness but what you said for the two sound almost The Same to me. In the end you're still waiting so long to open a chest? Right??

Yeah, that's the point except what I said would still let people open a chest if the server restarted or they otherwise had to log off.

Actually, it's the cooldown when you can open the loot chest again. If you change servers without getting the loot chest, you can still get it. But if you change servers after you get the chest, you will have to wait.

Depends on the time for both.

Are you sure..? People have said and I'm pretty sure it's true that the time is only for that server.

    Now I'm confused again ffs

The timer is per server per tier.

Oh, so how exactly do loot runs work then? You just get 1 tier 4 chest and then you chill for half an hour?

Nope, you go to an area and run around getting chests which you found before, people usually make a default route past them which they follow and may or may not include a t4 chest
