Hello! I'd definitely suggest copying the area and duplicating it to another section of your testing space for this: Red is a strong color that should be used in smaller doses - which makes it appear as more powerful. This is all entirely your decision in the end, but because you have yellow and purple on the organic (complementary colors), and also two of those three colors are warm colors with the other (purple) being cool, maybe you could alter the red flares extruding from the dragon's head to be a dark green. If you add too much green it will look festive which immediately throws some people off. But if you add a small amount of dark green, it could look rather pretty. If not clay or wool, try dark or normal prismarine lightly. This will not only make color theory sense and appeal the instinctive eye more (red and green are complementary, and green is also cool which evens the mix) but will also attract viewers more to focus on the dragons face, because the threads extend from the head and lead to the central point of interest. For any further questions on any of this, feel free to ask me privately or one here. Best of wishes!

'Tis really good actually, (this may or may not be good advice xD) but I'd recommend maybe making the end of the purple-yellow thing (I dunno what it is) rest flat on a surface, but just the tip (or a bit more) of the tail/end of the body.

My imgur kept stuffing up, or I was looking at too much of a tiny screen to see this properly till now. I would give advice, but those shaders makes it hard to see the guy properly to make an adequate judgement. May you take some raw screenshots? :)

Pearlescent moon has arrived on the scene!

Anyway, I think it looks pretty good, maybe make the dragon a bit thicker and rounder with a smoother shape on the stomach. In general I really like the build, and it is an awesome first organic :)

As a first attempt at an organic, it's a great base to work off. :)
If you'd like some tips, at least on what I feel is a little off, I'll put em down below, and it's up to you whether you'd agree and follow them etc: ^0^
-As the dragon spirals around the pillar, I'd imagine the body volume to be of a more cylindrical shape curving softly around until it gets to the top; try to avoid the rough janky edges as it flows around, and try a more simple curve
-For the head, the snout seems a little on the thin side for a Chinese dragon (if it's not one, correct me, this is just the feel I get from it). I'd recommend bulking it up a little more to give it more of a sense that it has nostrils going through and won't snap-Although given, some dragons can have thinner top portions to their heads, so it really depends what you were going for
-In your block structure, there are quite a few singular blocks sticking up on the body in general, try to avoid the odd rogue block and give it a nice transition to the next layer

Overall though, you have the right stuff going on, it's just about tidying it up a little and creating that flow of shape to symbolise muscle and tone of a body. ^-^
I know someone talked about colour above, but as a quick notion of myself; Try a palette that compliments each other. Once you've found one, try and look through blocks that would give you a good gradient of a dragons scale tones and how that can further enhance and compliment your shape. :)

Thanks for the feed back. Would you say there is any good way, besides just trial and error to make shapes flow better and look more smooth and natural.

If you want to learn smooth curves, I would try practicing by hand making different patterns and learning how blocks combine to make a smooth curve. For a rotation around a pillar, you could probably border it with hollow circles to give yourself a point of restraint, yet curve to follow at the same time. :) It's also partly a trial and error thing, as it's all about practice. :)

For a beginner your ok my only dislike about its is the head it seems robust and the body look elegant

    or the head elegant
