i have encountered and killed 2 Golden Avias, and I was an assassin

Aaa? If you're asking how many runes I get per feather, it's anywhere from 0-7. I currently have over a stack of uth runes, not including the ones I've spent for stuff

As for finding feathers, they spawn frequently around landmarks.

How do you kill flying birds with nearly no ranged attacks?

 

Since smoke bomb often doesnt go up high enough i use houses mountains and trees to gain more altitude :D

 

They seem rare because they fly. And nobody really looks at the sky much, i guess most people just find one by hearing a lot of sounds or getting bombarded by exp lol

You probably actually killed it... The thing has like 1 health...

 

All I do to find them is go to a small oasis up in the hills and wait a while. Then, when one shows up, I proceed to "fus ro dah" it with war scream, killing it instantly with the force from the shout.

Honestly, that seems easier than trying to snipe it out of the air with a bow.
