To briefly sum up the purpose of this thread: Is Wind Prison a bad powder special, or do I just need to learn how to use it?

    Hello, Wynncraft Community.

With the release of Corkus we've been brought the 'Powder Exchange', a market in which, for the trade of a powder and Nii Rune, Uth Rune or Liquid Emerald, allows us to exchange one powder type for another. I obviously made a point of using this as soon as I was allowed to roam freely in Corkus to exchange a few of my gathered powders to gain one Thunder Powder 6 and two Air Powder 6s. I vowed that I'd only put Tier 6 powders on my weapons and armour for their specials ever since they were announced, and I was rather happy to finally be able to use my first powder special. I put my two air powders and one thunder powder on my trusty Chakram, and went out to melee some mobs to charge it up.

Upon charging and using my powder special, however, I was left rather disappointed. While my special supposedly granted 180% more damage and knocked back mobs a whopping 24 blocks (Equal to a hit with Knockback 8 in vanilla Minecraft), it certainly seemed to not do much more damage than a regular hit from what the indicators told me, as well as the fact my poison damage activated it too, meaning I couldn't hit an enemy to deal buffed damage if I wasn't quick.

Wind Prison to me sort of seems like a 'get out of my face' attack, however as an Assassin player I feel like I already have a much more reliable, damaging and wider attack with Multihit; which attacks 11 times, allows me to control where my enemies go and can capture a large amount of enemies instead of one or two. My question is: Have I wasted my powders, or is Wind Prison simply a special I need to learn to use effectively?

I was also thinking of trading out one of my two air powders for a thunder powder to activate Chain Lightning as my special, so would that be a better alternative?

It deffinetly isn't as good on the damage side of Things, but it can really do wonders on Things like bosses which chase you down (in my expirience, but I played exclusivly as archer so it might be different with other classes).

Like all specials, this is only good for certain situations. It's good for stopping fast mobs. The COW for example.

Air is supposed to be the weakest subclass in terms of damage
Wind prison is pretty useful with stuff like ws builds since you don't really want to fight things, I mostly use it as an "escape" ability when I need to heal
