10 Posts Before Pictures And Links..

How is it preventing spam to stop people from putting their content on a post?
Spam will happen anyways even if the spammers will not be able to put pictures
or links..

That doesnt mean that they cant spam... if someone wants to spam they'll do it anyways.. if they can post links and pics and if not...

 

So I know it's a confusing thing, and admittedly, I agree with you on the idea that it does very little to prevent spam, however the 10 posts often serve as a detterance to people who would in some way desire to spam. It does little to stop people from spamming, but the moderators clean them up quickly enough.

It stops bots from posting porn.

 

What's wrong with bot porn.. I use an USB all the time and my little brother also connects charging to his tablet....

It doesn't stop spam, per se, but it makes it much easier to deal with.

Some bots are programmed to only post links and pictures, so they can't post at all. Beyond that, it just means the worst spam we get is random text threads, never anything that's NSFW or potentially harmful.

It's true that the limit should be lowered, though.

 

We did get Lana nellows but to be fair she wasn't a bot
