one of the main flaws is that there are no real money sinks, as well as lots of money being made. this creates heavy inflation.

Money sink means the actual money disposal, that deletes money from the entire system once they have used it. Trading is not a money sink, as the opponent player will still receive the profit, nothing changes. Guilds used to be kind of money sink, that eats the money players got from their quests/grinding.

The problem is actually not the lack of money sinks. It is that it is very difficult to make money because people do not buy items. Not even very good ones. There is massive oversupply of items and everyone rather sticks to their LE.

Items are inflating, while the actual currency, emeralds, is hyperdeflating.
Small inflation is just fine, it actually speeds up trade because people think if they buy today, it'll be cheaper than id they bought tomorrow.
But huge deflation obliterates an economy. See, if items' prices are dropping all the time, people think they can get them for cheaper tomorrow. -> Trade freezes, the economy dies. Just like in wynncraft right now. The people who already had lots of LE will be fine. The people who are trying to make LE by looting and selling items are in a huge shitpickle.
    ________________________________
New items enter the economy at the same time, at a much faster pace. The problem is upside down. There is too little emeralds and a huge oversupply of items.

The problem is not that there are too much of them altogether, but they have to be in balance. The amount of emeralds is too damn low compared to the amount of items people are selling.

Simple fix: make the Item Buyer give more money for all items.

Do not compare it to the mob update. Prices were completely different back then because there was no level 100 etc etc.

Compare prices before gameplay update and after. There they buffed loot chances. -> Items' prices dropped massively. For example, 7/4s Aquariuses sold for almost a stack. Now they are 15LE.
The gameplay update made LE more desirable, because people started looting all the items they needed.

If we now make emeralds disappear faster, they will become even more desirable and items will inflate even more. You have to see this, it happened once already with the gameplay update. Please do not let it happen again.

One thing is clear; LE is not inflating. If that was the case, it'd lose its value. But the opposite is happening. People value LE more and more compared to items. The only thing that matters is the value of emeralds releative to the value of items.

Items are inflating, people do not want to buy them, so they lose value. We have to make buying items more desirable, or the whole trading economy freezes. This can be done by making LE worse or getting rid of items. We can do both by increasing item buyer rewards.

We can also try and see what happens if we take even more money off the market. That might work too, because then everything would go to the item buyer, taking items away from the market, eventually leading to items being more desirable.

But somehow we have to deal with the massive oversupply of items on the market. Add more money or get rid of the items.

not only rarity, if there are a lot less LE around, people will have it hard to sell stuff, so they will sell the things for lower prices
more money = more money people will afford to use
less money = less money people can afford to use

    Exactly.
Right now people are not buying anything so the prices of items are way down. This makes it almost impossible to get money by looting and selling items, which is bad.

Frankly I don't see an easy way to give people with less money more money to help support the already failing economy we have. Certainly one suggestion, which actually may piss a lot of people off, would be to make legendaries (and some rare items) more rare. The over surplus of items is definitely drawing the prices down. When prices go down, people feel the need to overprice. Not to mention, the introduction of new items every major update is only accelerating the LE inflation.

Let's say we increased the emerald return from item buyers. That only puts more emeralds into the system, which is what caused a spike in inflation in the first place. If everyone has more money, the value of a single emerald decreases. If everyone had stacks and stacks of LE, some Mythics could stop selling at 10 stacks, and would start selling at 20 stacks, if a stack of LE is more easily attainable. I really don't think adding money would do us what we want (or at least what the people in this thread expressed).

I think our best option right now would be to nerf the amount of good items in play, simply by changing the drop system (not by removing people's items). With a major update coming soon™, if we want to help the current economy, the GM team should really consider changing the item drop system.

Oh and to be more specific, items are inflating in my opinion. However, I don't think emeralds are deflating, better yet, hyper deflating. I think emeralds are inflating slowly as more and more items come into play.
