Warrior/Knight Help Orange Wybel Build Critique

I've heard the majority of people say the trick to beating the boss is to ability spam until the servers crash, but I've recently tested a successful melee dmg build, and I'm looking for input or suggestions.

Weapon - Apocalypse
Helmet - Centipede
Chest - Chestplate of Ineptitude

These are basically the only things I have set in stone. The other items, I'm not so sure on. However, these provide a total of +4 tier attack, high melee %, as well as an added WS bonus which is crucial to strafing and makes the Slowness effect you're bound to get much less of a pain.

The strategy is simply to hug the wall of the boss arena while kiting the Orange Wybel & company while deliberately stepping on the pressure plates to summon the gang of wybels which I fondly think of as free HP thanks to the high LS on the Apocalypse.

 

Did you succeed in killing the orange wybel?

 

Quite successful, yes. For this type of build, anyways, there is always the chance that you may get one-shot (I haven't tested the spell spamming builds, so I'm not sure if this is endemic to Wybel), but this is only when I play it very greedy and do not use a strength and defense potion. If I'm using the two potions, the only reason I've died so far is because of lag. I also may end up using a health potion for emergency cases. If I'm playing it greedy and not using the SP potions (and get away with it), I may use 1 or 2 health potions but hardly ever use more because of Life Steal.

By one-shot, I'm just saying it doesn't tank a ton of dmg, sorry for the confusing language. Just saying that, even being a warrior with naturally high defense, it is still possible to die fairly quickly if you're not on top of things

 

On average, how long does it take to kill him with this kind of build.

 

Roughly 4-5 minutes if there are no major hiccups like a triple Orange Wybel duplication or something odd.

Did a quick run-thru. I'll start to actually log my times and come up with a more accurate estimate if need be. I put up ~3:25

 

If that's the case then this build is atleast as good as spell-spam one (if not better).

 

Did a bit more testing and this is what I've found: Avg time came to be 3:12 with using 1-2 HP doses (not potions) alongside the Str/Def doses.
Just to clarify, I am taking these times not as I enter the arena but as the Orange Wybel spawns, so add roughly 20-30 seconds onto the avg. time if that's how others have been figuring.

Also would like to quickly point out wybel (especially fifth form) have insane fire and thunder defence and you plan to use apoc, as well as -300 fire defence on centipede, also if you need potions to carry you to win a fight that means theres problem in your build

 

All the potions do is make it dummy-proof. It's more than possible to solo the Orange Wybel with this build thanks to the Apocalypse's life steal and neutral dmg. What do you suggest changing about it though?

 

I would suggest using Hive Boots as it gives amazing defences especially fire defence to counter -300 from centipede, as well as fire and melee damage, it's the perfect boot for your build, the ws from thunderous steps isn't significant enough anyways also judging from your choices of gears you're leaning more towards tanking instead of out manuver it. If you don't want to use your Hive token you can use nether scar but I'm not sure if there's -ws but it gives fire and thunder defence
