Assassin/Ninja Help Lvl 80+ Farming/pve Build? Help

So ... I'm a level 80 assassin that just did the Reincarnation quest with a warrior friend ... during that quest I noticed that I was doing 0 damage while my friend warrior was dealing all of the damage ...

I'm not into pvp (at least for now) so I need a xp/loot class build but that can also deal damage to bosses .. is this possible?

I know for sure I'm doing it wrong ... but I don't know what to do because I don't understand the whole water/air/earth etc thing, how they work etc....

I tried to search for a thread that explain all this stuff but with no result ....

can someone please help / link me something to help me understand how all this work?

Cosmic set is given after completion of the ??? quest and Vanguard can be bought from corrupted spider dungeon.

Skillpoints should go half to intelligence and the other half to something a mob you're farming is weak to (Fire=Def etc.).

So, for example, this mod (random one I found):


I should go (half intelligence) then half air and half water with the other half of skill points? (so in the end 3/4 intelligenge 1/4 agility)...

 

Intelligence=Water
So 1/2 intel, 1/2 agi.
That mob isn't something you should farm though.
Also, put powders on the weapon that the mob is weak to.
And if you didn't know. Intelligence is important so you could spam spells (makes them cost less).
