    Is it related to Bob or his Tomb.

    Lost in his own mind could relate to when he died or when he gave power to his animals.
    I'm pretty sure Bob died to some disease and his "only proof of existence" could be a various amount of things.
    It could be his tear, maybe inside the hidden library in ragni, maybe even bob's seal of approval, Bob's crushed soul. It could be anything bob related.

    but hey, that's just a theory

    No... Its referring to Yahya Nohno, Mehme, and Sohso.

    They encountered a magic meteor which essentially broke their minds and now they are obsessed with little things like mushrooms, chickens, Either wooden houses or solitude, i forget, and one of the 4 went to try and find a cure

    They were scientists, probably trying to cure the meteor insanity
