Greaves of the Veener doesn't work well with water being my main damaging element

 

you should prob go for Aquarius as the chestplate and vawrd, legginings of desolation, crystal or dark channeler are good leggs.

 

I like Hetusol better than Aquarius for this because it provides more health and I get plenty of mana regen from my other items. I can't use Leggings of Desolation because they would destroy my water damage. At first I dismissed Dark Channeler due to the requirement of Dexterity that I don't have, but if I added it as well as replaced Third Eye with Anima-Infused Helmet that could potentially make up for the lost skill points, as well as give me really good elemental defense... Except for earth that would still be at -100.

 

If you put on 2 rainbows, your damage would be nearly unaffected, but you would get another 60 in everything. Drop earth powder in your extra spots and you should get all positive defences

I know you don't like the skills put into Prism, but it works so well to counter negative defenses and works just too well with Nebulous and Willpower.

Lets go over why I choose some of the items over the ones you originally intended to use.
1. Anima-Infused Helmet- Its pretty obvious really. More health, alot of elemental defences, more damage and some reflection.
2. Stillwater Blue- So this is more a of person preference as I dont really think hetusol is a good item to use in a mage build as its got bad elementals and health regen as one of its main perks (you've got heal so health regen is pointless). Stillwater offers 2/4 mana, high water damage, some reflection, ALOT of intel and no shit elemental defences which is why Id use it over hetusol.
3. Supression- Requiem isnt that great of a melee weapon anyway so i chose to go for the increased mana at the cost of your melee attacks.
4. Scalding Band- Spell damage and water damage with some elemental defence. Squid is also alright but i feel you've got enough mana regen already from the other items.
5. Calming Torc- Decent water damage and some itel. Whats not to love? Once again royal is fine but I prefer more damage over mana.

 

You should use Greaves of veener or Seipodon as pants and 2x concentrations for regen.

 

Don't some spells trigger mana and life steal, such as arrow bomb (i imagine as a result some of mage's spells do the same), so suppression would be worse than say concentration.

 

Im sure thats only if exploding was triggered by the spell aa exploding triggers life/mana steal. either way i did give the option of concentration anyway

Hive Chestplate (Hetsoul is kinda useless for mage cuz it's mainly for Health regen)

Royal Story (1/4) is fine

Skill Points distrbution( with gear on)
Strength:33 (get veneer with at least 3 strength)
Dex:33
Int:129 (75% mana reduction) (10int from third eye, 3int from royal stormy, and int from weapon and prisms)
Def:70
Agi:33

skill points needed: 298
so you better level 101 and get good sp on prisms weapon, third eye, basically you have to get at least maxed ID sp on them

 

Oh boy, that's a lot of skill points. I don't really have the LE or luck to get that many good items. Also Veener kinda goes against water.

Edit: Hive chest frankly doesn't feel like it's better enough than Hetusol to warrant spending 33 skill points to wear it.

 

About GoV going against water it doesn't go against it much it has -4% to -9% water damage which you will easily negate with a your armour and accesories

 

But the thing is Hetusol gives a huge debuff in thunder and earth def
Thunder and earth are the elements that do tons of dmg comparing to fire water and air
It will not be a good idea
The only useful id would be 3/4 mana and the rest would not be useful

I was actually gonna swap Third eye for qira helm I should edit that in OP.
Fixes Hetusol element defense issue.
And I was gonna use Requiem yeah
And I'm gonna use Dark Channeler for legs I think

 

Or u can try using like the chestplate from water hive shop
It's rly important to have 129int for mage imo cuz u basically get 1less mana everything which is basically 4 mana regen

What I mean is 129 int with 7mr can do even better than 100 int 19mr

 

3rd eye vs Anima infused helm is kinda a choice between damage or defense.
I want to use anima cause I put in the dex points for dark channeler anyway and 3500 health is hot.
I feel like it'll be better but I'll try with my 3rd eye before I get Anima to be sure
