    Ayyyyyy, I'm back!

    Now with a Detlas&Ragni Review

    Positive Section: Ragni

As someone who might have just started Wynncraft walking into a city as amazingly designed as Ragni, definitely urges players to continue on! From the farming areas to the chefs home this city has great homes and outstanding designs. Another great feature would have to be the fact that its embedded into a mountain, giving the area more depth. As someone who loves to build things, I 100% would look to the city for inspiration!

    Negative Section: Ragni

Although everything I stated above is true, everything has its faults. To begin the rat cave adds a nice touch of realism, the rats can get annoying. If players are trying to use the bank and a rat began attacking them, they would have to start from scratch. As my second complaint it has to be the use of emeralds on the bank, I understand it symbolizes the currency/bank however I do strictly think that emerald, diamond Ect. should only be used in special situations. Although I'm not completely opposed to using them in/on the bank I don't think it really compliments the palate. (Even more so, due to Ragni's colors being red/yellow)

    Positive Section: Detlas

On a totally different opinion, the Emerald blocks, do compliment the city. This is because of it's Dark/light green colors. Personally I love the hourglass tower in the center of town, this directs more attention to the center of town, which is also amazingly detailed/designed. Smaller details, as in leaving an emerald lying on the counter in the bank also adds a nice touch.

    Negative Section: Detlas

Detlas, although a beautiful city, can get confusing sometimes. Due to the town center being a very open area, the rest of the shops (such as the powder master) are crammed back near the walls, or in corners. This causes newer players to look around the center for shops that aren't there. My second complaint has to do with the airships, I consider them difficult to access and their in strange places, which also has to do with the cramming of shops.

Welp, that's it for these reviews. I suppose I'll do Nemract and Selchar next

You just started playing the game. You have alot more to learn!

The main currency of Wynn is the emerald, and every city has its own emblem but overall uses the same type of currency so I don't see how "palette" is an issue. Regarding Detlas, I suppose the shops are located in strange places because it encourages players to explore around instead of having to rely on shops all being centered in a single location. Exploration is what makes Wynn good, plus alot of the cities and towns are all designed like that. Airships isn't really an issue because the Detlas airship can only be used in a later stage of the game. If you're talking about the airship that flies really high up above Detlas-that's for decoration. Many things found in the game are for decoration, so don't go nuts if you find that you can't access those areas.

Have you seen Gavel? The citys there are the real deal. (often) Big, cool, easy to find stuff in(, would fall quickly if attacked) and overall great.

Regarding this comment, I do understand emeralds are the main currency and basically used everywhere. I do distaste the use of it in Ragni though. Your points on Detlas are true, however it can get confusing for a while, before you've learned the layout of course. From the cities I've seen they have a variety of placement allowing players to explore, but not get to confused. Take Almuj for example, they have shops near the center, but they aren't just item buyers, They have included potion shops an such. Though it include shops in the middle it also contains shops on the edges along with a bank near the back. Thank you for the points on Detlas however ^^

I thought the point of Ragni was to be so bad, that people want to leave the place as soon as they can and go explore

Welcome to the Realm of Wynn.

Some observations from this not quite as new visitor...

There are things that are built into this game to get folks curious about the rest of the world. The dev's have explained this basic design strategy for specific aspects of the game and lore. The layout of the western portion of Wynn, it's cities' "amenities" and the quest structure is a prime example.

Ragni was designed to get a player started and then directed out into Wynn province. Its a hub for all the early quests and introduces new players to the basic concepts of the game.

Then the player is nudged out to the Nivila Forest for the next batch of quests as well as an introduction to the lower tier powders and their uses.

Next stop: Detlas. The true hub of Wynn, pointing the player to the major areas of Wynn and Introducing the bank and all the common merchants. And once unlocked, the airship port allows quick transit between Wynn and Gavel.

And so on, and so forth.

As the game has matured and new merchants, utilities and what-not have been added, these things have been shoe-horned into some of the existing towns/cities in places not quite fitting the pattern established in original town layout. In some cases, this may seem counter productive to the original idea, like slipping a bank into Ragni when Detlas was meant to introduce this first. But in most cases these additions have been to give existing/established players some utility a new player won't really need or be able to utilize yet. So if something seems misplaced or out of the way, that's probably why.

Hope you're enjoying your sojourn through this Craft called Wynn. I wish I had more time to wander it myself.
