I'm curious how XP per mob is calculated. I read in the wiki that you should hunt 'near' your current level and that's how you get the most points. So hunting below, I get why that gives little XP. But hunting way above seems to give little XP as well. Is that universal?

How (in general) is the XP calculated?

Each mob has a range of xp

Each level different between you and that mob is -3% xp
So 34 levels or more of difference and you get 0 xp

I don't think pokemon exp is scaled to change with your level. The reason why pokemon around your level are good for exp is because they simply give more exp than lower level ones. The lower level pokemon still do give exp, albeit such a relatively small amount that it is essentially meaningless. In Wynncraft, mobs literally give no exp after a certain level difference.

But down to the ones place, isn't it a bit of rng? Cause while grinding, I can kill the same named mob at the same level twice and get slightly a different amount of xp?...

Each mob has a RANGE OF XP alright?

    That's just random RNG
Each level difference between you and the mob you killed gives 3% less xp from the random number you got from that range

    Confusion where? .-.
