As you might know. There is a second end portal along the wall of the ocean. Above it reads a sign "Sanguinem in aquam" which literally translates in latin to blood into water, sanguinem is nomnative, with in being a SIDSPACE unusual, but aquam is accusative so we translate as into instead of in. This could just be a metaphor trying to say something else. What do you think.
what do you think blood into water means to the lore

Blood in Water could be a reference to how the Corkians escaped Fruma. We know that some made it to Corkus across the waterway, but there is no way of knowing how many didn't get all the way there...

The Corkusians, their blood is helping form new families from other bloodlines which are not related (water)? Maybe it represents a war in the ocean?

theres a reverse Jesus, that gives miracles to bad people, damnit Salted... oh yeah in the Bible there's a story of the7 plagues of Egypt, one of them Moses, Jesus's mailman was told to tell them (Egypt) to let go of Jesus's people, since they refused, Jesus sent him to strike Egypt w/ 7 plagues on Egypt, one was where he turned all the water into blood, making them all start to die from thirst

Not sure if you're just trying to be funny... But here's the biblical account for accuracy's sake.

7?! Try 10. Technically all this was done in the Father's name (Yahweh), though the whole Trinity (Father, Son (Jesus' to us English speakers) and the Holy Spirit) would have been involved being that they are a trinity and all...

    Plagues inflicted upon Egypt:
    1) all water turned to blood for 7 days. Appearantly they could only get fresh water by digging new wells (Ex 7:24).
    2) Frogs, frogs everywhere!
    3) Gnats... The least scary plague of you ask me.
    4) Files! The Gnats got a power up!
    5) Extermination of the Livestock. Crappy water, amphibians and bugs are bad... But no hamburgers?! I'm out.
    6) Boils! And lots of them. Eewwwww, nasty.
    7) Fire & Hail! Messed up water, no meat and now no grain harvest. And anyone caught out in the open got smeared as well.
    8) Locusts! Any plant and tree the hail missed gets finished off.
    9) Darkness! Pitch black for 3 days... A serious f-you to a country that worships the sun as it's supreme god. And the big finish...
    10) Death of the first born.

After that, the Egyptians paid off the Jews to stop their God from killing them all and then kicked them the heck outta there. But then the Pharaoh sent his army after them to avenge themselves for the destruction the plagues caused. Ending with the army's annihilation by God in the red sea. Pretty much ending Egypt's world power status at the time (btw, random historical fact: Cleopatra was a Greek).

All the above to keep as slaves the 600K men and their women and children (~2M all together) who descended from Israel and his sons (originally 70'ish people) who moved there by invitation of the then Pharaoh some 430 years earlier.

In that time they went from being reverred as the family of Israel's son, Joseph, who saved their country from a seven year famine to being a big ole bunch of slaves that the current Pharaoh hated.

My only question about the biblical account is that after the 5th plague where all the Egyptian livestock is supposed to have died off, the rest of the plagues mention that there were remaining livestock that were effected by the following plagues just like the humans. Did the Egyptians go out and buy replacement livestock between plagues or was #5 not quite as thurough as described?!

Consider your Western Civ/Biblical Studies requirement covered for the day.

Nothing meant by it. Twas speculated that a biblical theme was the source of the Latin mentioned in the OP. Then a half hearted reference was made to the plagues listed in Exodus. I decided a more complete reference was warranted.

Belief is not required to treat the text as literature that's themes have bled into most aspects of Western Culture. The culture from which this Craft called Wynn was spawned.

Besides... This game is not devoid of its own religious themes. Mysterious Cultists, Bovine Worshipers (Hail Salted, may his glossy brown eyes forever regard you with benevolent indifference!), Eternal war between the forces of Light and Dark, etc.

Humans seem to universally need some kind of religious framework to define their morality. It turns up in everything. Perhaps we should just try to roll with it instead of treat it as a radioactive boogy?

However, if the mods deem my exposition too controversial, I will not contest their decision to delete, sanitize or otherwise discipline me for it.

Im 100% sure the latin has absolutely nothing to do with god turning the river nile red in egypt. Also references to religion within wynn are made so everyone can understand. Light and dark fighting (they are the complete opposite. dark is associated with bad, light with good etc) or even the bovine worshipers which litterally means cow/cattle worshipers. Everyone can understand these so I highly doubt that this latin would have anything to do with jesus who doesnt even exsist in wynn

Fair enough. Though I doubt the worshipers of the Most Devine Salted would take kindly to being generically called cattle worshipers. :tongueout:

No worries mate. Gave me an opportunity to info dump on something I find interesting and that seems to turn up all over the place.

The dev's toss us crumbs, we try to reverse engineer the cake they came from. And a lot of what we come up with is just plain weird.
