    erhm well...

you're probably gonna be doing the most damage with thunder/earth or thunder/water weapons.
But all-element weapons means that basically anything you fight will be weak to an element you're using, so that's probably the best, but when it's not. IT REALLY SUCKS.
So have a neutral weapon to go against mobs with high elemental defenses.

    thunder + water/earth for good spell/melee damage.

all-element for against elemental weaknesses, but use a neutral damaging weapon as well if you use an all-element weapon.

Focus on multiple elements. After level 50, you kinda have to anyway and it's less likely for you to encounter a mob that will be super resistant to your attacks.
Like, say you're only using water as your damage. You encounter a water elemental with 500 water defense. You probably won't be able to kill it! But this water elemental is also weak to thunder, so if you had water/thunder you'd probably be able to kill it anyway.

What I said makes literally no sense, so I'll just respond with a simple yes, you should use multiple elements. At least two.

Multiple elements is usually better, unless you're making a build for a specific boss (like Death). You have more chance to encounter a mob weak to your element if you have multiple, obviously.

Oh, and also have a 2nd weapon that deals completely neutral damage, in case you fight against a mob that has high elemental defense in your element, or in ALL elements, like Qira.
