This, just get cheaper RAM (brand really doesn't matter and you can find 8gb for a bit cheaper) and you'd be fine with something like an EVGA 600B instead of the CX for $20 less. And don't forget jet promo codes.

If you're just playing minecraft, though, you can spend way less and still get perfectly good performance ($400 range).

Brand does actually kinda matter, and I'm only finding 8 gb ram for 3$ less at most.. and I chose the power supply because corsair is typically slightly more reliable then evga (you don't want to cheap out on power supply) And it's semi modular meaning it can have better cable management.

RAM wise, when gaming you aren't going to notice any difference between different heatsinks, timings, or even speeds really. It's all the same DDR4 RAM deep down anyway, and the "quality" of RAM is hardly the bottleneck in any modern gaming system. I noticed some DDR4 8GB for $40, but even that is still expensive (not a good time to buy RAM really). Either way it's almost no difference in price and performance right now.

I'm going to have to disagree with the PSU-overall I'd say EVGA is a much more reliable brand, especially for the price with their mid-high tier stuff. G2/P2 hit it out of the park and is relatively cheap, while RM and up is really overpriced for what you get. The old CX green label and VS models were not something for Corsair to be proud of either, though they have made improvements with the white label CX line. A new CX would be suitable and reliable, but for this level of a build something like a slightly lower tier but much lower priced 600B is quite satisfactory. In terms of cable management, though, if he wants modularity then he should definitely stick with the CX.

Yeah, if he can afford the extra $40 it's definitely worth it. If not, it's not the end of the world and he can always upgrade later. (It's still really a luxary)

I made a $750 PC for fun. It's over $700, but at least you'll have the GTX 1060 6GB in it.

Corsair, TBH, are pretty cheap on their peripherals (before then, but now their product's price have jumped up around to near-exactly where Logitech's and Razer's price point are at). As of now, you should get Corsair's Harpoon RGB (They're sold out, but you can at least go for the SteelSeries Rival 100 if that helps). It is $30 in places like Amazon or Best Buy.

I'm not exactly sure of the headsets. Because you want the price point of around $25, It's hard to find what's good since general gaming headsets go over $60-$100. However, i'd recommend Turtle Beach Z11.
